POST FLOOD RELIEF (Short Term Project Proposal)

LOCATION OF THE PROJECT: Poblacion of Trento,Agusan del Sur-

Mindanao,Philippines
This Project will be executed in 12 Barangays of
Poblacion,Trento.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: Post Flood-Short Term Relief
1.Immediate Relief- Food & Clothing
2.Immediate Relief- Medicines
3.Post Relief (On Recovery)- Growing Vegetables /Fruits for Post
Sustainance on Food & Money

RATIONALE / BACKGROUND: Before victims return to their respective houses

,their needs in Evacuation Centers
should be addressed especially their basic needs such as Food ,Clothing
& Medicines ,which this project
aims to look upon and provide.Immediate Relief of these needs is what
we aim to provide.,and after which
the floodwater has receded & affected people now returns to their
respective houses,the need is there to
rehabilitate physically (their houses) ,and economically (their source of
income for daily sustenance).There should
be a way of labor that produces quick results , a project that will give
sustenance in the coming months
especially in food requirements ,that is why ,another goal of this project
--is to be able to plant vegetables and fruit
for the provision of food and money in the family.Growing plants has
less investment ,they could use their
own land around their house..Women in the family can participate and
look after the project.This will not need
financial investment on labor .,and the return of this short term business
on this product is 2-3 weeks.
OBJECTIVES :
1. To provide a 3 weeks Food-Consumption for Flood victims and give Clothing
as well.(Immediate Relief)
2. To provide Water purification tablets for safe drinking water ,Saline Packets ,
and basic medicines for Flood
related Illnesses (cold,cough,fever,diahrreah,skin diseases..etc) (Immediate
Relief)
3. To help start anew a source of income that produces quick results -which is
planting Vegetables & Fruits
after the Flood. Vegetables such as: Beans/Squash/Eggplants/green leafy
vegetables,Radish(Post-Relief)
METHODOLOGY : (Plan of Operation)
1.Selection of Recipients will be among the victim themselves.
2.Selection of Seeds ,Medicines ,Food & Clothing
3.Procurement & Distribution
4.Monitoring & Follow -Up
STRATEGIES:
1.Selection of Recipients needs "survey" for the list of affected families..
2.Seek "Donations & Sponsorship" from organizations and charitable institutions
for medicines,clothing
and even food.
3.Procurement will be taken in bulk but distributed according to family size.
4. The Project duration is 1 month
5. Follow-Up , Monitoring ,& Evaluation will be a 3 months duration.
