Selfridges rst opened its doors on March 15, 1909 in London.

As opposed to other department stores, it had no background as a small shop and was designed as a department store from the very beginning. The store in Central London is the second largest store in the UK. In addition, it is a preferred

location for visitors to the exquisite city of London. Selfridges was given the best department store in the world award in 2010, at the yearly Global Summit of Department Stores in New York. The store sells everything from high-end fashion to street-cred clothing, refrigerators to furniture.

THE CHALLENGE
Carrying out a project for one of the largest and most recognised stores in the world demands a high level of professionalism and expertise. ISG technology, recognised for its unrivalled expertise and backed by its undeniable reputation, was employed for this highly renowned project to design the Cat6 Krone cabling infrastructure for the stores internal network and all independent cabling for the womens shoes concessions. ISG technologys quali ed sta of engineers worked diligently in order to co-ordinate and execute the project. The major challenges of the project consisted of gathering information from fteen di erent concession brands, compiling all information received and producing a uni ed solution whilst following strict time schedules. In addition, the infrastructure required for the di erent areas ranged from Cat6, Cat5, Fibre Optic to CW1308 voice and had to be carefully selected according to the particular areas speci cations. The engineers were given anywhere from three weeks to three hours notice for completing di erent aspects of the projects such as design, survey and installation.

SOLUTIONS DELIVERED
Prior to the initiation of the project, all concessions were moved to a designated area in which cabling was provided on temporary basis, in order to allow each brand to be fully operational while the main works took place. The temporary selling area, hooked up and tted by ISG technology, provided for no impact on sales and allowed the department to continue with their normal activities. ISG technology designed all Cat6 Krone cabling infrastructure for the internal network and the independent cabling required for each individual concession. By carefully planning, anticipating additional changes in design variations and cable installation and due to its outstanding skills and experience, the team successfully dealt with narrow time restrictions. The ISG technology team was able to synchronise the di erent infrastructure required for the appropriate location while successfully moving the ASDL line, MX boxes and faxes. The successful completion of the project did not interrupt the concessions day-to-day operations and all brands were extremely satis ed with the work carried out by ISG technology.
