Leadership role in transition from a Con Agra division to a standalone organizat
ion with over $1.5 Billion in Annual Revenue and 1000 Associates.
* Developed the Benefit Plans and Benefit Summaries for all domestic Health & We
lfare Plans and Retirement Plans, including seven Union facilities. The later re
quired ability to interpret provisions of Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Provided HR leadership to Verso Paper as it became a standalone company with ove
r $1.5 Billion in Annual Sales & 3000 employees upon divestiture from Internatio
nal Paper.
* Prepared and presented a number of Training/OD programs including Code of Cond
uct, Policy and Procedures, Pay and Benefit Programs.
* Involved in Strategic planning, including M&A due diligence efforts in one mer
ger evaluation and two acquisition evaluations.
* Successfully performed role of Project Manager for Payroll & Benefit System tr
ansition. This included implementation of the Payroll Platform, web based H&W be
nefit open enrollment & self service platforms.
* Established and managed programs and vendor contracts and relations with Payro
ll, Retirement Plan and H & W benefit providers; this included ADP, Fidelity, He
witt Relocation Services, BC/BS, United Healthcare, Sedgwick CMS, MetLife, and C
IGNA. Responsible for all aspects of ERISA compliance for H&W plans with $30M in
annual expenses.
* Managed Defined Contribution (DC) & Defined Benefit (DB) Plan contribution ca
lculation, funding process & ERISA compliance; this involved over $6.5M in annua
l Verso contributions for DB Plans and $20M for DC plans.
* Coordinated benefit plan designs and cost analysis resulting in four year labo
r contracts at two Mills in 2007. This included review of two Union multi-employ
er Pension Plans and Health & Welfare Plans. Also involved presentation role to
the Unions at the negotiation table during benefit related discussions.
INTERNATIONAL PAPER, JAY, ME 2005 TO 2006
Human Resource Generalist
Provided Human Resource management in a union-free paper mill with over 1000 emp
loyees. Performed HR functions for Maintenance & Engineering groups. Also had a
long term leadership assignment at IP's Bucksport, ME multi-union paper mill wit
h over 800 employees.
* Developed an integrated Disability Management Program at the Jay ME mill. This
helped reduce lost work time by 5%.
* Coordinated summer student program, successfully recruiting and training 90 su
mmer students resulting in cost savings of over $300K.
* Developed parameters and processes to resolve labor issues, including a signif
icant safety issue, at the Bucksport ME, mill.
