Tactical Operations Center, 572nd Military Intelligence Company, 5th Stryker Bri
gade Combat Team, Khandahar Province, Afghanistan * June 2009 July 2010
The 572nd organization consists of 80 intelligence analyst and 50 intelligence c
ollectors responsible for providing intelligence analysis regarding enemy used f
or decisions regarding offensive and defensive operations in support of 5K+ US a
nd NATO troops.
Collection Manager (Captain)
In charge of collecting, analyzing, and reporting Intelligence, Surveillance and
Reconnaissance (ISR) information, as well as requirements and asset management.
Liaised with Division on daily basis and in weekly ISR meetings with NATO and o
ther coalition partners. Collaborated with Brigade staff in asset synchronizatio
n, de-confliction, and planning. Answered Requests for Information to external a
gencies. Planned and conducted presentations to Brigade Commander regarding stat
us and allocation of assets in the battle space.
Established work space and began work 3 weeks prior to the building of the Briga
des Tactical Operations Center or the Analysis Control Element, providing suppor
t to Battalions in their Tactical Road Marches to outlying Forward Operating Bas
es, as well as to subordinate maneuver Battalions and the Commanders intelligenc
e requirements.
Slashed collection management process from hours to minutes by improving the pro
cess.
Instituted processes and tools enabling staff to process over 800 Requests for I
nformation and Requests for Intelligence Collection.
572nd Military Intelligence Company, Fort Lewis, WA * 2007 - 2009
Provider of intelligence analysis regarding enemy in Afghanistan; 80 intelligenc
e analysts and 50 intelligence collectors.
Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Fusion Platoon Leader (1st Lieutena
nt) * 2008 - 2009
Accountable for maintenance and deployment of the Brigades Signal Intelligence A
nalysis, Human Intelligence, Tactical Exploitation, and Measurement and Signatur
e intelligence cells, as well as the Trojan Satellite communications system, and
the Brigades Collection Management section. In charge of readiness via training
for 8 Non-commissioned officers (managers) and 17 soldiers, as well as for 13 C
ombat vehicles and ancillary equipment valued at $8 M.
Planned and orchestrated participation in Operation Mojave Connect which require
d the company, standing alone, to achieve connectivity with national agencies an
d synchronize databases to show the Company could stand on its own and function
without Brigade support for periods over 96 hours at a time the 1st time this w
as done successfully in the Army.

Established the Brigades Collection Management cell, and resourced training for
self and soldiers in the section; routinely worked with national level intellige
nce agencies in preparation for upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
Human Intelligence Platoon Leader (1st Lieutenant), 572nd Military Intelligence
Company, Fort Lewis, WA * September 2007 May 2008
Maintained and deployed $500K in military equipment while training 65 soldiers o
rganized into 6 operational management teams and 1 tactical interrogation facili
ty squad. Accountable for planning, training, and execution of the Brigades Huma
n Intelligence Operations preparing for Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanista
n. Ensured all teams executed their operations efficiently and effectively, and
followed all legal and moral guidelines set by the DOD.
Functioned as the Companys Executive Officer accountable for the Companys traini
ng schedule in addition to own Platoon, Company Arms Room Officer, and protectio
n of all Company Secret and Classified information.
Spearheaded project to reorganize Brigades Human Intelligence capability from a
platoon of 31 to 65 soldiers; created 7 Operational Management teams and one Cou
nter Intelligence Coordinating Authority.
Orchestrated 3 quarterly training schedules outlining training and funding for t
he new platoon.
Coordinated funds, supplies, and land use for 5 Company training exercises.
1st Calvary Regiment, 8th Squadron, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, Fort Le
wis, WA * November 2006 September 2007
Squadron consisted of 435 soldiers.
Squadron Intelligence Officer - Primary Staff Officer (2nd Lieutenant)
Created and managed the Squadrons Intelligence Office and information security s
ystems within Squadron, including training in and securing Top Secret and Specia
l Compartmentalized Information clearances as needed, development of database to
track clearances, and ensuring classified materials are handled appropriately.
Conducted weekly classified briefings to Squadron Commander in preparation for O
peration Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Charged with managing project to bring
subordinate Companies to semi-autonomous status at direction of the Colonel. Se
t criteria, policies, and procedures for acknowledging completed status of the C
ompanies for approval by the Colonel.
Placed in charge of expanding organization from 1 to 5 Companies, ensuring Compa
ny Commanders met criteria to operate on own.

in construction, sales and Marketing, retail store management, and manufacturing
