Area Environmental, Health and Safety Manager 2000 present
Command development, implementation and enforcement of comprehensive safety prog
rams governing a warehouse operations of a 480K-square-feet facility. Conduct in
-depth audits across a 5-state territory comprised of 60 branches, and ensure co
mpliance with all applicable legal regulations and industry standards. Oversee i
nvestigation and reporting activities for all accidents and safety incidents, an
d facilitate workers compensation protocols. Administer management training to e
nsure all standards are being met. Manage security vendors, internal surveillanc
e system, and loss prevention program.
Major Contributions:
* Served as field representative for corporate EHS department that delivered a
$4M cost savings during tenure through the implementation of strategic environme
nt, health and safety programs
* Led distribution center to earn the companywide Safety Excellence Award 4 time
s in 9 years for surpassing regulatory compliance requirements and achieving all
key performance indicators.
* Slashed OSHA recordable and Lost Time accidents from 55+ per year to less than
10.
* Recovered $450K in workers compensation expenditures, cutting the number of op
en claims by 400 and instituting a transitional work program.
* Played a key role in a massive 4-year expansion project, ensuring seamless EH&
S operations throughout a major expansion of the warehouse from 280K to 480K squ
are feet.
* Launched distribution centers first security program, including retention of t
hird-party vendors and establishing all policies and procedures.
* Drove major renovation of fire and burglar alarm systems and the implementatio
n of a state-of-the-art surveillance system consisting of a network of 70 camera
s.
* Cut high-risk activities by facilitating occupational functional capacity stud
ies to analyze and identify potential job hazards.
