Responsible for a team of 27 people who handled the sales, marketing and logisti
cs of Sara Lee products to Delhaize accounts Food Lion, Sweetbay, Harveys and H
annaford. The team has seen great success with new item launches, increasing di
stribution, creating efficiencies in logistics, enhancing store presence, and de
livering towards volume and profit goals. The team averaged 10% growth over pre
vious year sales equating to an incremental $20MM.
Team Leader ( Mid-Atlantic Region) July 2004 June 2007 (Charlotte, NC)
Responsible for managing a multi-functional team of 31 people that included sale
s, marketing and finance. Our TEAM was responsible for 8 accounts in North Caro
lina and the surrounding states. These 8 accounts are responsible for approxima
tely $200,000,000 in annual sales. My specific duties in this position include
achieving Team GMAT, volume, and net sales goals, managing the team on a daily b
asis through numerous task and opportunities, hiring and staffing, strategically
planning with each Portfolio Development Manager on their specific accounts, an
d working with the Team CFO to insure our team is in line with expenses and the
team is running profitably.
The team experienced a lot of success and we were rewarded as the most profitabl
e team in all of Sara Lee in 2008.
Senior Regional Manager for Deli August 2001 July 2004 (Jacksonville, FL)
Responsible for accounts in the Southeast. Total area of responsibility was 12,
000,000 pounds and $45,000,000 in sales. Key accounts were Winn Dixie, Publix,
Kash N Karry, Albertsons, Kroger, Save Rite, Bi-Lo, Brunos, Food Lion, Harris Te
eter, Lowes, MDI, and Ingles.
My management duties included 11 merchandisers 2 Regional Managers.
I was awarded the New Business Development Award in 2002 and 2003 for successful
launches of the Sara Lee Deli line of products. My biggest launch was into Foo
d Lion (2004) - where the product is still a major focus of their delis and gene
rates over $20,000,000 in revenue annually. I also successfully launched Sara L
ee Deli into several Southeastern accounts and for my efforts; I was awarded Reg
ion Manager of the year in 2004!
National Sales Manager June 2000 August 2001 (Dallas, TX)
Fleming Foods. Responsibilities included managing 7 direct sales people and 21
brokerage companies in 21 Fleming divisions. I was solely responsible for the c
orporate warehouse call and the profit of the Fleming account. My success on t
his account included opening up 11 brand new divisions for Sara Lee and increasi
ng existing business by 73% versus year ago tonnage.
BRYAN FOODS (SARA LEE CORPORATION)
Deli Sales Manager September 1998 June 2000 (Birmingham, AL)
Responsible for Sales and Marketing for the Deli channel. Responsibilities incl
ude managing 5 Regional Managers and 1 Marketing Manager. Total area of respons
ibility was 16,000,000 pounds and $35,000,000 in sales. Under my direction, the
Bryan Deli line doubled from 8,000,000 lbs. annually to 16,000,000 lbs. annuall
y. This accomplishment was through great team work with me as the leader.
Senior Account Manager March 1997 September 1998
Brunos account. Responsibilities included managing an account manager, obtainin
g sales and profit goals, store coverage, warehouse calls, setting ads, implemen
ting marketing plans. We grew the business 48% versus year ago! I also launche
d our deli line of business and was awarded the Deli Salesman of the Year for th
e entire company.
Account Manager June 1993 March 1997
Winn Dixie (Montgomery Division) account. I was in charge of promotion and dist
ribution of Bryan products in 125 stores. My business grew from 11 items to 62
items and revenue more than tripled. I was awarded Salesman of the Year for my
efforts on this account! I also launched Bryan Deli and was awarded the Deli Sa
lesman of the Year award.
