CAREER SUMMARY
Have successfully managed several enterprises and government departments. Most
recent served as the Recruiting Manager for the US Census Bureau for the 2010 D
ecennial Census. Set up recruiting and testing schedules at various venues. W
as responsible for a crew of 22 field recruiting assistants and 13 recruiting cl
erks in a call center. Through direct communication with Career Centers and loc
al entities we were able to test over 7000 individuals in a 6 month period which
surpassed the Bureaus recruiting goal. Managed a two shift 50 person productio
n team at Darn It, Inc. for Wearguard of Norwell, Ma. Was contracted by Stop
& Shop human resources department to recruit, interview and process the required
forms for hire. Interviewed 268 individuals in a 3 month period. Managed
three commercial fishing gear suppliers serving the ports of New Bedford and Fai
rhaven, Mass., while covering ports on the East Coast from Rockland, ME., to Sou
thern ports in North Carolina. As Office Manager for Sunbrand, a needle trade s
upplier, re-shaped and improved office systems at the Fall River office.
SELECTED MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Member of the 2010 ECHO Performing Arts Festival under a grant from the US Depar
tment of Education.
Recruiting Manager for the US Census 2010 Decennial Conducted testing sessions
and recruited assistants and clerks to handle the Constitutional mandated pro
cess. Achieved and surpassed the recruiting target.
At, Darn It, Inc., improved productivity by creating a better working environmen
t for operators. Adjusted work stations and made access to the required work t
ools an easier task. Interviewed applicants and recommended for hire.
The office at Sunbrand in Fall River had not been changed in 15 years. Due to
lax office standards, records were not easily accessed. A complete turnaround w
as necessary and achieved. Office records were organized in a concise and frie
ndly fashion to allow easy access by the entire staff. Reporting practices to t
he Home Office in Atlanta were improved and better communication was also achiev
ed.
