Senior Project Manager
Senior Project Manager responsible for:
* The DSG cabling division, developed new customer accounts, performed technical
sales and operations, responded to RFPs, managed infrastructure projects for cl
ient companies. Hired and compiled training program for staff technicians. Devel
oped and maintained relationships with Customers. Worked with Accounting in t
he billing process. Infrastructure environment included the completion of site
surveys, installation of CAT 3, CAT 5, fiber and video cabling, testing, accepta
nce, and the completion of the final Cable Plant documentation. Supervised a st
aff of twenty-six management and technical personnel.
* The total installation of a wireless LAN solution for 5,605 students within fo
urteen (14) Howard University dormitories. The project required the installatio
n of conduit, core holes, electric; coaxial cable, Ethernet, and fiber optic cab
les in each building. Utilized Cisco 4003 chassis with appropriate number of Gi
gabit links to support connectivity between the HUNet backbone. The links betwe
en each MDF and IDF were connected utilizing fiber connections between the Cisco
4003 and 3524 switches. Each dorm room gained internet access through utilizin
g the Cisco Aironet "340" access points.
* The upgrade installation of a Wide Area Network, consisting of (39) remote sit
es nation wide, to corporate headquarters in Washington, DC., from Frame Relay A
ccess Devices (FRADs) to the Cisco revolutionary Channel Interface Processor (CI
P).
* The total installation of a Wide Area Network connecting (40) remote sites nat
ion wide, via Frame Relay, to corporate headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. Sup
ply each remote site with an IP standalone terminal server; a SNMP managed Ether
net Hub and Cisco's new 2610 router, each with an internal 56K DSU.
Discovery Communications, February 1997 - July 1998
IT Facilities Manager
IT Facilities Manager responsible for:
* Computer rooms support for corporate site and six (6) remote sites nationwide,
which included construction/build-out, air conditioning, smoke detection/fire s
uppression, power/UPS, raised flooring, and equipment layouts. Planned and coord
inated the installation of a 225-kVA Liebert UPS system with 15-minute battery b
ackup at the corporate site, with the capability to support the entire Data Cent
er. Managed all infrastructure cabling.

WestComm Technology Group, Inc., September 1993 - February 1997
Senior Project Manager
Project Manager:
* Managed the de-installation, relocation/transportation, re-installation, syste
m and component testing, and the coordination and management of the data center
for the United States Agency for International Development to a new "SCIF" facil
ity in Beltsville, MD., including several varying subcontractors, the efforts of
all project technicians, as well as, all vendors. Equipment consisted of an IB
M 9121-311 mainframe, personal computers and associated printers. The system was
operational 15 hours ahead of schedule.
* Managed the Data Center relocation of the Navy Ships Parts Control Center in p
roviding services to plan, implement and manage the complete physical relocation
of the TEST BED system, which supports the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) Proj
ect. The equipment consisted of an IBM 3090 180J/9377 processor and associated
peripheral equipment.
* Managed the relocation of all ADP and user equipment for the Pension Benefit G
uaranty Corporation (PBGC) from several sites to the new facility in Washington,
D.C. The equipment consisted the installation of a bridge IBM 3090-200E mainfr
ame, and the de-installation, transportation and re-installation of multiple min
i-computers, multiple local area networks and over 1200 personal computers.
* Managed the completion of NT compatibility testing for all personal computers,
Net Census and a physical asset inventory for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp
oration agency wide, Washington, DC and 13 remote sites.
* Managed the installation of LAN cabling (voice and data), via fiber optic and
CATV (broadband) media connecting to the base wide Local Area Network cable plan
t at the Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida (U. S. Navy).
* Managed the de-installation, relocation/transportation, re-installation, syste
m and component testing, and the coordination and management of several varying
subcontractors for the Joint Chiefs Staff Support Center at the Pentagon.
* Managed the upgrade and installation of a ROLM 9004 PBX and ROLM 8000 SPBX pho
ne system, horizontal and station cabling consisting of copper and fiber at the
new Greenbelt METRO Maintenance Substation.

* Managed the interim phase of the Intelligent Work Station LAN for the Social S
ecurity Administration across the country for 62 sites including site surveys an
d site certifications in preparation for Token Ring LAN installations.
* Organized, planned and scheduled all support services for all tasks and projec
ts relating to the downsizing of two Data Centers into one central Data Center f
or United States Customs.

* Managed the 24/7, 365 day facilities, operations, systems backups, telecommuni
cations, hardware and software, systems programming, tape library, and help desk

ation, operation and networking for the conversion and migration of two Secret S
ervice sites from Honeywell equipment to IBM equipment.
* Designed the initial back-up computer room layout, planned and coordinated pre

nd software problems. Managed a staff of 30 technical professionals.
* Upgraded eight (8) IBM processors to AMDAHL processors for the Social Security
Administration. Planned and coordinated the upgrading of six IBM processors at
the six Program Service Centers nationwide for SSA.
