Technical Sales:
Responsibilities included all quality related decisions for the manufacturing an
d distribution of products. Worked directly with Richwood's owner/president and
the sales team and customers to develop new and improved products.
Responsible for all manufactured component sales quotations.
Sales:
* Worked with Richwood's owner/ president to develop a new office panel stile th
at resulted in $1.5 million in sales.
* Developed a $1.2 million sales project with a West Michigan based college dorm
furniture manufacturer for Michigan State University and helped set up quality
specifications and control systems at the mills on the East and West Coasts that
produced the plywood panels and components.
Operations:
* Co-lead a team to lower inventory levels by 35% using the Toyota Production Sy
stem for lean manufacturing. This allowed Richwood Industries to close a manufac
turing facility in Kelso, Washington and move it into the Grand Rapids facility.
* Worked directly with Herman Miller's Supplier Development Team to develop a Q.
C. program that resulted in Richwood Industries becoming a certified supplier t
o Herman Miller.
* Served as interim plant manager for a one-year period.
* Managed the warehouse/distribution facility.
