capital equipment like Boilers along with human safety .

BoilerDoc The ConceptA

• BoilerDoc is detailed scientific study for assessing the existing condition & life of a boiler / heater
& hence confirming its safe operation in future.
 • BoilerDoc is also Life Extension Program of an equipment as it follows a scientific procedure to
identify any flaws developed in an equipment & suggesting the remedies for the same.

• Life Extension program is NOT a One Time activity. It is on-going Preventive maintenance for
obtaining peak performance of equipment.

• BoilerDoc is a Preventive major to safeguard the boiler & Heaters against possible failures &
accidents.

SCOPE of WORK -
1. Log book scan for past data on operational load pattern for last 2 years.

2. Water analysis record scan for past 2 years.

3. Examination of boiler -
a. Water Drum.
b.Steam Drum
c. From inside- water drum, steam drum- limited to accessibility

4.Examination of fillet weld joints on Steam Drum such as -

a. Safety Valve conn.
b. Pressure Gauge conn.
c. Air Vent conn.

5. Furnace sidewall - from inside

a. Membrane panel
b. Refractory walls

6. a. Baffle wall tubes - From furnaceside, limited to accessibility -

7. Corrosion assessment from inside drums, Overheating of tubes etc.

8. Special Tests - if required, based on site observation - may be separately charged.

9. Photographs of important sections.

REPORT on assessment shall be furnished within 15 days inclusive of analysis of results, necessary
photographs, test results and recommendations if any.

The tests shall include UT, MPI/DP testing, in situ Metallography, hardness, thickness, visual
exam. etc. by qualified competent personnel.

ASSISTANCE REQUIRED FROM BOILER HOUSE STAFF

Min. 2 fitters will be required for planned visit of 4 days for help on each day.They shall help Thermax
personnel in sandering, cleaning of weld joints and other help if necessary for boiler examination. Some
accessories such as Sandering machine, polishing emery papers, portable lights, pneumatic connection,
and ele. connection will be required to be provided by EID PARRY.

Note : Thermax personnel shall operate under industrial safety norms . For work at heights ,
scaffolding, ladder, safety ropes, PPE as required needs to be provided by EID PARRY. For
work in closed spaces, ventilation needs to be created. In case of any medical help needed the
same shall be provided by the customer.
PREPARATION OF BOILER FOR CONDITION ASSESSMENT BEFORE ARRIVAL OF THERMAX
TEAM

Boiler should be shut down min. 2 days - to cool down the boiler, before the arrival of Thermax team.
Cleaning of furnace, tubeplates and tubes should be carried out by EID PARRY as a preparation.
Lagging, insulation should be removed from drum shells before Thermax team arrival so that the drums
can be examined. Furnace should be cleaned from ash as the same interferes with the studies.
The insulation, fitting work in place etc. shall be carried out by EID PARRY boiler house staff after
Thermax assessment work is over.

QUOTATION

The total charges for above work for the visit of Thermax personnel – 3 nos (for stay of 4 days at site )
shall be ,

Price : Rs. 516,000 (Rupees Five Lacs and sixteen Thousands only)

Terms & conditions :

1) Service tax @ 10.30 %

2) Too and fro travel charges shall be extra. Air fare (economy) shall be applicable beyond 500 km
from Pune for all three personnel.
3) For any extra day's stay, Rs. 50000/- shall be charged extra per day.
4) Local Travel, Lodging & boarding will be organized by client in a nearby decent hotel or company
guest house for our representative / staff visiting site .
5) 75 % advance against PO/ LOI & 25 % after submission of Final report including extra day stay
if applicable.
6) Payment : Addressed to Thermax Ltd – C & H Services SBU by DD / Cheque drawn on
Thermax Ltd , Pune .
7) Site mobilization : 25 days from the date of PO.
8) Above charges do not include any other tests than abovementioned tests on boiler. The same
would be decided mutually if needed to be carried out with extra payment if necessary.
