AVVISO DI SELEZIONE

E’ indetto un concorso per la selezione di 25 studenti che parteciperanno all’HONOURS

PROGRAMME “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering” attivato nell’ambito dei corsi di
laurea magistrale in:
 Nuclear Engineering - Ingegneria Nucleare
 Energy Engineering – Ingegneria Energetica
 Chemical Engineering – Ingegneria Chimica

DESCRIZIONE

Honours Programme “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering - Nuclear Science

and Technology”

Rivolto agli allievi aventi forte predisposizione agli studi e alla ricerca, con l'obiettivo di far
crescere queste abilità e di formare ingegneri che possano inserirsi naturalmente nei settori
della ricerca scientifica e tecnologica. Il programma formativo si sviluppa lungo il corso
tradizionale di LM in Nuclear Engineering – Ingegneria Nucleare e offre allo studente
l’opportunità di approfondire alcuni aspetti della sua preparazione sia da un punto di vista
metodologico che dei contenuti, sotto la supervisione di un docente di riferimento assegnato
dal CS. A questo scopo sono previste attività formative integrative di approfondimento in
diverse discipline e nel corso della tesi di LM, per un totale di 20 crediti aggiuntivi, parte dei
quali secondo la lista Honours e parte ad ampia scelta su insegnamenti di LM, secondo gli
interessi dello studente e in accordo con il docente di riferimento.

Honours Programme “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering - Energy”

E’ un percorso di studio che rientra nella strategia dell’alta formazione del Politecnico di
Milano ed è rivolto agli allievi con forte predisposizione agli studi e alla ricerca, con l'obiettivo
di far crescere queste abilità e di formare ingegneri che possano inserirsi naturalmente nei
settori della ricerca scientifica e tecnologica. Il programma formativo si sviluppa nel corso di
LM in Ingegneria Energetica, e offre allo studente l’opportunità di approfondire aspetti della
sua preparazione, sia da un punto di vista metodologico che dei contenuti, sotto la
supervisione di un docente di riferimento assegnato dal corso di studio. A questo scopo sono
previste attività formative integrative di approfondimento in diverse discipline e nel corso
della tesi di LM, per un totale di 20 crediti aggiuntivi, parte dei quali secondo la lista Honours
e parte ad ampia scelta su insegnamenti di LM, secondo gli interessi dello studente e in
accordo con il docente di riferimento.

naturalmente nei settori della ricerca scientifica e tecnologica. Il programma formativo che si
sviluppa nell’ambito del corso di studi magistrale in Chemical Engineering offre allo studente
l’opportunità di approfondire aspetti della sua preparazione nell’ambito della ricerca applicata
e di base, sia da un punto di vista metodologico che dei contenuti. Il percorso dello studente
verso questi obiettivi avviene sotto la supervisione di un docente di riferimento assegnato dal
corso di studio. A questo scopo sono previste attività formative integrative di
approfondimento in diverse discipline e nel corso della tesi di LM, per un totale di 20 crediti
aggiuntivi, parte dei quali in insegnamenti di LM secondo gli interessi dello studente e in
accordo con il docente di riferimento.

Possono partecipare al concorso gli studenti del Politecnico di Milano regolarmente

immatricolati per l’a.a. 2021/22 al primo anno della Laurea Magistrale in uno dei corsi di
studio sopra elencati.

DOMANDA DI PARTECIPAZIONE
La domanda di partecipazione deve essere presentata tramite apposita funzione
disponibile dai Servizi on line (sezione Richieste di ammissione > Ammissione a
procedure di selezione) a partire dal 15 Ottobre ed entro le ore 12.00 (ora italiana) del 29
Ottobre.
Alla domanda di partecipazione dovranno essere obbligatoriamente allegati (in formato pdf di
massimo 10 MB) :

1. Curriculum Vitae con l’autocertificazione della media pesata degli esami del Corso di
Studio di primo livello;

2. Lettera di motivazione.

I file devono essere nominati con Cognome-Nome_tipologia allegato.pdf (per esempio Rossi-
Mario_CV.pdf).
La chiusura della candidatura on line equivale all’invio della domanda di partecipazione.
La mancata chiusura della candidatura o l’incompletezza della stessa comporta l’esclusione
dalla procedura di selezione.

SELEZIONE

La selezione è affidata ad una commissione composta dai Responsabili del Programma per i
diversi Corsi di Studio.

La valutazione terrà conto di:

 media pesata degli esami del Corso di Studio di primo livello;
 lettera di motivazione;
 attività ed esperienze extra curriculari e/o soprannumerali svolte in precedenza

L’elenco degli studenti ammessi al programma, per ciascun corso di studio, sarà pubblicato
entro il 10/11/2021 alla pagina web https://www.polimi.it/corsi/percorsi-di-alta-
formazione/honours-programme-scientific-research-in-industrial-engineering/.

A ciascuno studente ammesso al programma verrà chiesto di confermare, entro dieci giorni
dalla pubblicazione della graduatoria, la propria partecipazione all’Honours Programme.

A fronte di eventuali rinunce si procederà, ove possibile, con uno scorrimento della
graduatoria.
INCOMPATIBILITA’
La partecipazione all’Honours Programme è incompatibile con eventuali esperienze di studio
all’estero, sia per mobilità breve che di doppia laurea, ma non con periodi all’estero dedicati
allo svolgimento della tesi di laurea.

REQUISITI PER L’OTTENIMENTO DEL TITOLO

I requisiti per l’ottenimento del titolo di Honours Programme “Scientific Research in

Industrial Engineering - Nuclear Science and Technology” sono il mantenimento della
media pesata non inferiore a 28/30 con nessuna votazione inferiore a 24/30 e il
conseguimento di almeno 55 CFU al termine del primo a.a.

I requisiti per l’ottenimento del titolo di Honours Programme “Scientific Research in

Industrial Engineering - Energy” sono il mantenimento della media pesata non inferiore a
27/30 con nessuna votazione inferiore a 24/30 e il conseguimento al termine del primo a.a. di
tutti gli insegnamenti del primo semestre e di un insegnamento appartenente ai SSD
INGIND/31-32-33 del secondo semestre. In ogni caso tutti gli esami dovranno essere
conseguiti entro il secondo anno accademico.

I requisiti per l’ottenimento del titolo di Honours Programme “Scientific Research in

Industrial Engineering - Chemical” sono il mantenimento della media pesata non inferiore
a 28/30 con nessuna votazione inferiore a 26/30 e il conseguimento al termine del primo a.a
di tutti gli insegnamenti del primo semestre. In ogni caso tutti gli esami dovranno essere
conseguiti entro il secondo anno accademico.

NOTICE OF SELECTION

A call for a selection competition of 25 students that will participate to the HONOURS
PROGRAMME “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering” is activated in the following
study programmes:

Nuclear Engineering

Energy Engineering

Chemical Engineering

DESCRIPTION
Honours Programme “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering - Nuclear
Science and Technology”

Addressed to students with a strong predisposition for study and research, with the aim to
improve these skills and train engineers who can enter into the fields of scientific and
technological research without problems. The training programme is developed along the
LM conventional programme in Nuclear Engineering and offers the student the opportunity
to study in detail some aspects of its education, both from a methodological and content
point of view, under the supervision of a reference professor assigned by the CS. For this
purpose, additional in-depth training activities are provided in different disciplines and
during the LM final work, for a total of 20 additional credits, part of which according to the
Honours list and the other part decided among the LM courses, according to the student's
interests and in agreement with the reference professor.
Honours Programme “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering - Energy”
It is an educational path that is part of the Politecnico di Milano high education training
strategy and is targeted to students with a strong predisposition for study and research,
with the aim to improve these skills and train engineers who can enter the fields of
scientific and technological research without problems. The training programme is
developed in the LM programme in Energy Engineering and offers the student the
opportunity to study in detail the aspects of its education, both from a methodological and

Honours Programme “Scientific Research in Industrial Engineering - Chemical”

It is a study programme addressed to students with a strong predisposition for study and
research, with the aim to improve these skills and train engineers who can enter into the
fields of scientific and technological research without problems. The educational
programme developed as part of the laurea magistrale study programme in Chemical
Engineering offers students the opportunity to study in details some aspects of their
preparation in applied and basic research, both from a methodological and content point
of view. The student's career towards these objectives takes place under the supervision
of a reference professor, provided by the study programme. For this purpose, additional
in-depth training activities are provided in different disciplines and during the LM final
work, for a total of 20 additional credits, part of which in the LM courses, according to the
student's interests and in agreement with the reference professor.
The competition is open to students of Politecnico di Milano regularly registered to the a.y.
2021/22, in the first year of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science), in
one of the study programme listed above.

APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION

The participation application must be submitted through the dedicated function available
from On-line services (section Admission Inquiries> Admission and selection procedure)
starting on October 15th and within 12.00 (Italy time) of the 29 October .
To the application form, it is compulsory to include (in pdf format of maximum 10 MB)
1. Curriculum vitae whit self-certification of the weighted average of the exams of the First
Level Study Course;

2. Motivation letter;

Files must be named Surname-Name_Kind of annex.pdf (for example Rossi-

Mario_CV.pdf).
The closure of the on-line application is equivalent to send the participation application.
Failure to close the application or its incompleteness will imply the exclusion from the
selection procedure.

SELECTION
The selection is made by a committee consisting of the specific Responsible persons for
the Study Programmes.
The evaluation will take into account:
weighted average of the exams of the first-level Study Programme;

motivation letter;

extra-curricular and/or as extra activities and experiences previously carried out

The list of students admitted to the programme, for each study programme, will be
published by 10/11/2021 on the web page …
Each student admitted to the programme will be asked to confirm, within ten days from the
publication of the ranking list, his/her participation in the Honours Programme.
In case of renunciation, the administration will go on, where possible, in scrolling the
ranking list.

INCOMPATIBILITA’
La partecipazione all’Honours Programme è incompatibile con eventuali esperienze di
studio all’estero, sia per mobilità breve che di doppia laurea, ma non con periodi all’estero
dedicati allo svolgimento della tesi di laurea.

REQUISITI PER L’OTTENIMENTO DEL TITOLO

The requirements to obtain the Honours Programme qualification in “Scientific Research

in Industrial Engineering - Nuclear Science and Technology” are the maintenance of
the weighted average of not less than 28/30 with no score lower than 24/30 and to obtain
at least 55 ECTS at the end of the first a.y.

The requirements to obtain the Honours Programme qualification in “Scientific Research

in Industrial Engineering - Energy”are the maintenance of the weighted average of not
less than 27/30 with no score lower than 24/30 and to have passed all exams of first
semester at the end of the first a.y. and one course related to SSD INGIND/31-32-33 of
the second semester. In any case, all exams must be completed within the second
academic year.

The requirements to obtain the Honours Programme qualification in “Scientific Research

in Industrial Engineering - Chemical” are the maintenance of the weighted average of
