This brand new 32-room boutique-style hotel opened July 15th 2009. My responsi
bilities include hiring, training, mentoring and evaluating all staff members; g
uest relations; brand adherence; business development through inside and outside
sales; marketing; monitoring expenses. Since opening, our guest service scores
have exceeded brand average in all categories and we are besting the Sacramento
hotel market each month in occupancy and rate.
Presidio Companies, Fairfield, CA, February 2004 - June 2009
Presidio Companies, formerly Presidio Hotel Group, owns and operates urban, subu
rban, and resort properties. This entrepreneurial company focuses primarily on
acquiring under-performing properties and renovating, rebranding, and operating
until market conditions are optimal for sale. In five years with this entreprene
urial company my responsibilities expanded from human resource management to a v
ariety of operational and leadership roles.
Director of Human Resources & Operations, 2005 - 2009
In addition to human resources, my role with Presidio Companies eventually inclu
ded many operational responsibilities - including directing operations for 3 Cal
ifornia hotels, which encompassed 333 rooms and 120 associates.
* Managed and monitored profit & loss - including crafting and monitoring operat
ing budgets, reviewing labor costs daily, and a monthly P&L review.
* Participated in and monitored sales and marketing strategies, including sales
blitzes, reviewing competitive performance reports, and room rate positioning.
* Oversaw quality and guest satisfaction scores.
* Represented corporate office and was liaison between ownership and properties.
* Prepared monthly property performance reports for equity partners and investor
s, which included analysis of P&L, competitive performance reports, and property
action plans.

velopment deals, acquisitions, dispositions, loan refinancing, appraisals.

I joined Presidio Companies to manage human resources in their growing portfolio
of properties - responsible for all human resource functions.
* Directed HR for up to 7 properties in 5 states, with nearly 500 associates. In
volved in acquisition, management assumption and disposition of 7 properties bet
ween 2004 and 2007.
* Crafted and administered benefit plans for each property and managed billing f
or all plans.
* Oversaw payroll administration and time and attendance compliance.

I assumed the role of General Manager for this 137-room hotel during two periods
while we searched for a permanent General Manager.
* Maintained 80% room division profitability while being down in occupancy 25% y
ear over year.
* Improved guest service scores within one month of assuming command and maintai
ned scores at or above brand average of 80.
* Drove the sales effort in a struggling market and economy. This included helpi
ng train a new sales manager and signing/share-shifting 9 new negotiated account
s through local sales efforts and the Marriott RFP process.

I was asked to temporarily manage this downtown restaurant which had suffered fr
om a lack of steady daily leadership for 2 years while the owner, a Presidio par
tner, positioned the restaurant for sale.
