Being the only manufacturer of Portland Cement in Jamaica and the largest manufa
cturer in the Caribbean, CCCL is responsible for supplying over 80% of all cemen
t used in sustaining the Jamaican construction industry. As such, consistent, qu
ality product is of paramount importance.
With approximately twenty-four direct reports, coordinated and monitored the com
pany’s QMS endeavors that resulted in;
• the continued production of quality final product (Portland Cement),
• satisfactory levels of conformance and subsequent maintenance of the company’s inte
national QMS certification (ISO 9001:2000), as well as
• the establishment, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance practices
that furthered continual improvement.

Standards and Certification Officer (2003 - 2008)
In keeping with the mandates of Jamaica’s sole standards body, which are to protect
the Jamaican consumers, facilitate trade (nationally and internationally) as wel
l as to enhance the competitiveness of Jamaican manufacturers, coordinated the C
ertification Mark Programme (CMP) which involved continual auditing/assessing an
d monitoring over thirty manufacturing companies across Jamaica to ensure confor
mance to recognized product and quality management system standards and practice
s.
All Island Jamaica Cane Farmers’ Association (AIJCFA) Tel: 876- 922-3010
Technical Officer (1990 - 2003)
AIJCFA provides representation for all registered cane farmers across Jamaica as
it relates to policy and technical matters.
As Technical Officer, conducted technical audits of the laboratories located at
the then nine sugar factories across Jamaica. Monitored the practices employed a
t the laboratories to determine conformance levels to established and agreed nor
ms. This had direct impact on payment to cane farmers.
Petronol Jamaica Limited (Renamed Sugar Company of Jamaica – Bernard Lodge)
Process Control Technician (PCT) (1989 - 1990)
As PCT provided supervision to laboratory analysts who conducted tests on in-pro
cess materials as well as final product. Personally analyzed composites of al
l samples collected from previous-day. This was done on a daily basis.
JLA Hatchery Limited (A subsidiary of the Jamaica Livestock Association)
Assistant Hatchery Supervisor (1988 - 1989)
Supervised approximately ten staff members in the processes involved in the hatc
hing of eggs and distributing day old chickens across Jamaica
