A Cleaner Sound
Wharfedale has

been at the fore-front of enclosure

design for many years and has now

developed a radical new constructional method.

Conventional cabinets fix the front and rear panels rigidly

into the cabinet box and so the woofer cone vibrations are

transmitted through the whole cabinet. Each cabinet wall then vibrates adding colouration and dissipating sound energy.

By contrast the Diamond cabinet’s front and rear panels are made from Wharfedale’s unique acoustically dead

“AudioStealth” moulded rock polymer. They are then bolted together to form a structure that moves as a single panel and

which is isolated from the main cabinet body by compliant gaskets. The result? Lower cabinet vibrations mean

lower levels of colouration and a cleaner sound. Less energy loss means a tighter, louder bass.

Port Tubes
Ordinary

port tubes are flared at the end

you see but plain at the other end.

The result is that the air can get into

the cabinet faster than it can get out

resulting in a pressure build up which

displaces the woofer cone so that it hits

its “end stops” sooner.

The Diamonds use Wharfedale’s

symmetrical ports through which air

flows equally well in either direction. The

result is the Diamond loudspeaker can

actually play louder and with less

distortion!
