CHAPTER CHAIN
Inaugural Edition – Fall 2010
Hello Sister Links,
I am pleased to introduce the inaugural edition of
the Texas Spring Cypress ‐ Chapter Chain. This
News Letter is designed to help ensure that our
Chapter is using every means available to
communicate, communicate, communicate.
Through the Chapter Chain, we hope to reinforce
key messages and reminders from our National
and Area Offices, and share friendship messages as
well.
No communication tool can be effective without

This summer was a BIRTHDAY BONANZA
for Link Sisters of Texas Spring Cypress!!
Heir O‐Link, Jarrett Crockett graduated Magna Cum
Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Morehouse College on
May 16, 2010 and is working as a Business Analyst at
Deloitte Consulting in Atlanta.
Link Patricia Johnson was selected by Houston May
Community College as one of the recipients of the 2010 Sharon Iglehart, 6th
National Institute for Staff and Organizational Pamela Ireland May 24th
Development (NISOD) Excellence Award. Connecting JUNE
Link Robert and Heir‐O‐Link Brandon also attended the
Irene Solomon
award ceremony held in Austin, Texas

Assembly with her daughter, Judge Nata Brown, a Link Jewellean Mangaroo, 25th
delegate for the Metropolitan DC Chapter, and lastly Telisa Toliver, 28th
traveled to DC to spend time with granddaughter. In Brenda Peters, 29th
between time, she served as a delegate from TX to the AUGUST
National Assoc. of Parliamentarian’s Convention in St.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & MORE
The chapter got a head start on the J.E.W.E.L.S.
program this year by participating in Open House
at M.C. Williams Middle School, Sept 7th. Parents,
students, and teachers made their way to
classrooms stopping along the way to chat with
Links Anna James, Pat Johnson, Pamela Ireland,
and Deborah Crockett about the JEWELS program
and its benefits. Principal Delesa O’Dell‐Thomas
stopped by to express her appreciation for the
support of Texas Spring Cypress Links.
