1.0 COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this course, you should be able to:


• Discuss what is information technology
• Identify the difference between application software and system software
• Discuss the major components of system unit
• Explain the difference between input device and output device
• Describe the connectivity options in information era
• Describe multimedia, Web and more advanced applications – graphics programs,
virtual reality and artificial intelligence
• Discuss on the privacy, security, safety and environmental issues
• Describe how the data is organised
• Describe how the information flows in an organization
• Discuss how technology is changing the nature of competition
