About the abstract

I have concluded the abstract based onto English version of research papers available. The guide is
for people who want to know basics about four Vedas. The actual forms of Vedas are very vast and
consist of a number of teachings, knowledge and spiritual knowledge. I shall be thankful to all the
scholars who may wish to leave their feedbacks onto my research. The objective is to provide
knowledge to our young generation who may find hard to understand our Vedas in superior
languages. The guide will help them understand the basics of four Vedas and give them idea of the
purpose of the vast Hindu scriptures which is full of knowledge, information and guidelines toward
having a good life.

3. Meaning of Veda

o Veda means Knowledge.

4. Purpose of Veda

a. Rig-Veda – consists of Prayers and praises of the Gods.


b. Yajur-Veda – consists of different types of Yagya (religious sacrifices).
c. Sam-Veda - consists of many a richas (creation) from the Rig-Veda, which are indeed
lyrical and musical.
d. Atharva-Veda - contains a lot of knowledge of the physical world and spirituality

5. Characteristics of Vedas

a. The characteristics of Rig are


o Welfare, attainment of the supreme soul, experiencing the beatitude of God,
internal happiness, piousness, adhering to one's duties, Love, penance, pity,
altruism, benevolence and service etc.

b. The characteristics of Yajur are


o Valance, attainments, courageousness, protection, leadership, success, prestige and
victory etc.

c. The characteristics of Sama are,


o Performing arts, play, happiness, entertainment, literature, music art, sensual
pleasure, progressiveness and contemplation.

d. The characteristics of Atharva are,


o Luxury and wealth, accumulation of things, aids of consumerism and accessories of
household usage.

The Elements and the main teachings of each Veda

Rig-Veda

1. Knowledge / Education – One should always gain


2. Wealth – Only comes if you are armed and if you try
3. Motherland – One should never forget [ Earth / Saraswati / Vani ]
4. Protector – One should live in good company, only then good thoughts come in mind. Then
only one is blessed with Happiness , Peace an Success
5. Truth – Only with truth you come famous and successful
6. Happiness – One should never fear from unhappiness, because unhappiness is the route
toward happiness and truth. Then only it is eternal victorious.
7. Peace – it comes from good and trustworthy friends. Then only happiness comes on the
earth
8. Good Sense – Develop a good sense by hearing good and watching good and keeping away
from bad things. Then only one can benefit.
9. Good Long Life – Only comes from Sharp and Good mind. All works are done by sharp
intellect and relentless karma. First is the healthy body
10. Patience – Only patient people get more influence.

Yajur-Veda

1. Liberate for Good – Good things results in good and bad results in very bad
2. Right Path – One should always follow the right path, if destructed, take advice or help for
the knowledgeable expert of that field and resolve to come back to the right path
3. Stability – Destroy the illusion but do not destroy the Yagya the religious sacrifice to be more
stable.
4. Stable mind, Engage Religious – Scholars make their mind stable and engage in religious
activities.
5. Dharma – Protect truth and protect dharma
6. Intellect – God attain because of Good, Radiance, wealth, Good food gives good health.
Knowledge makes scholar, Wealth gives prosperity and success, Radiance makes person
glorified. It leads to mental, physical and spiritual growth
7. Character & Morality – Imbibe quality of good actions and deeds, only then scholar is
respected and honoured.
8. Yagya – Only the pure souls should be invited to the Yagya, with their blessings only Yagya
gets accomplished.
9. Body & Yagya – Our body is like Yagya consists of seven means(body hands legs and mouth,
mind, intellect)
10. Karma Yogi – One should meditate to the supreme soul and become a karma yogi. One
should engage in good deeds for good fruit.
11. Avoid Greed – Greed is the root cause of Sin

Sam -Veda

1. Wear Stones – Stones protects us and gives us health and wealth. Always wear precious
stones.
2. Donation: Donation of food is the noblest donation, as it protects others, donation of
knowledge is also noble as it spreads knowledge. It also said, if one does not donate food,
his food is destroyed as well, as its selfish. Store foods as much is needed. One should also
spreads the knowledge, as if doesn’t it vanishes.
3. Perseverance: No one can achieve anything without perseverance. If one sets goal, he works
harder toward achieving them, if he keeps patience, discipline and diligent, at the end, it
brings total peace, happiness and contention.
4. Religious: One should always involve in religious activities to become pure soul
5. Ten required merits are:
a. Stability of mind
b. Forgiveness
c. Benevolence
d. Abstinence from larceny
e. Internal and external cleanliness
f. Control of senses
g. Intellect
h. Knowledge
i. Truth
j. Abstinence from indignancy
6. Friends – Always be true friends, friends never harm others.
7. Independent – Be strong to protect your children or anyone asking refuge under you with
independent efforts
8. Control Senses – Control senses and free yourself from 5 evils.
9. Nourish of Mind – Milk, Ghee, Honey and water are nourish of mind.
10. Three energies destroy - inauspicious, death, misery. Three energies resemble state of mind
those are consciousness, subconscious's and dream state. The three energies are: A.U.M. –
Aum. One should practice AUM for better concentration.
11. Bramhachari – One who practice bramhachar, God resides in them, as he is full of
knowledge, intellect, path of truth, essence of morality and sublimeness

Aratha Veda

1. Motherland – Our motherland provides us food, water, health and wealth. One should
always protect the motherland like a mother feeds her child and protects from everything.
Same way it’s our duty to protect our motherland which provided us everything.
2. Politeness and Softness – One should practice politeness and softness then only one
achieves everything, only softness and politeness provides success. Practice politeness and
softness.
3. Wealth – One should always work toward achieving wealth, then only one can center of
cynosure from the working assertively from his knowledge.
4. Indra – Indra destroys ego and pride. Pride is demon.
5. Son of noble man is also noble. He is always victorious.
