KS1 – Year 1 pupils are working at level 1, which is characterised by the use of ICT
to explore options and make choices to communicate meaning. Pupils
develop familiarity with simple ICT tools. As part of a topic, “Living things”, pupils
looked at information on plants and animals. They used books, magazines,
photographs and interactive whiteboard. They talked about where different
animals are found. During their ICT lesson, they used 2Simple software to “paint”
a plant (some painted a flower, some a tree or the beanstalk from “Jack and the
beanstalk” story. They made a class display and talked about the similarities and
differences between print-outs, photographs and drawings.
KS2 – Year 5 pupils are working at level 3, is characterised by the use of ICT to
develop ideas and solve problems. Pupils learnt to work on power point and
publisher, and they been introduced to spreadsheet. They learnt to navigate and
search a basic database. As part of their “Graphic Modelling” topic, pupils
designed their own classroom.

Finance
Spending to date has included the following:
Bee-Bot Software Allows children to take control of their Bee-Bot with this on-
screen programming software. Bee-Bot Mats featured in the
program: Alphabet, Race Track, Busy Street, CVC, Money,
Shape, Treasure Island and Animal Walk.
Purple Mash Is the new creative online space for primary schools. Each
pupil will have their own 2Simple online space to save and
access their work from. This can be used a homework tasks.
It comes free, on Fronter and can be accessed from home.
It is a great resource of integrating ICT skills within the
Literacy curriculum.
