• Text written LIKE THIS indicates what you will type on the unit’s keypad. If you see
text surrounded by brackets, such as [ENTER], it means to press and release that key.
• Text written LIKE THIS or Like This indicates what you will see on the unit’s
display.
Menu choices You should see the “SVIOE MAIN MENU” which consists of the
following choices:
01 Data Entry
02 Send
03 Erase
04 Setup
05 Exit (NEVER USE!)
If a different menu is displayed, press the [END] key until the SVIOE
main menu is displayed.
Ordering Highlight the option “DATA ENTRY” from the SVIOE main menu and
press the [ENTER] key. The highlight bar is moved by using the yellow
arrows (the A and C keys). Next highlight the product department that
you are ordering and press the [ENTER] key. At this point, you are ready
to scan the bar code on a shelf label or hand enter a SUPERVALU item
code.
If you desire a quantity greater than one, you may key in the quantity and
press [ENTER].
If the item was previously scanned, you will hear a double beep, and the
screen will show you the CURRENT quantity already on the order. If the
item is then entered, it will increment the quantity by one. If you don’t
want to increment the quantity, simply hit the [END] key. For items that
were on the last order, a previous quantity will be displayed; this is
indicated by a “P”. After the last item in an order is scanned, the
[ENTER] key must be pressed or that item code will not be included in
the order.
Changing quantity Once you scan the order barcode, the current quantity will be displayed.
The recommended way to change quantity is to press the [CLEAR] key
which removes your quantity, allowing you to type in the desired number.
If you decide you don’t want the item at all, it is best to delete the item
code rather than enter a zero quantity. If you want to subtract from a
displayed quantity (in Modify or Add mode), simply type in the number
of cases to subtract and press the minus key (in the bottom left hand
corner) and you will see the changed quantity.
Example:
Screen displays:
01 GROCERY
ADD
I 3263207
Q ___
CURRENT 4
If you want a total of two cases, not the four currently on order, press
[2] [-] [ENTER] or [-] [2] [ENTER].
To verify the quantity, scan the barcode again. The current quantity will
be displayed. If you don’t want to change that quantity, simply press
[END].
If the screen does not have a dashed line allowing you to input the
quantity, simply scan a different barcode and then rescan the barcode in
question to get to that point.
Note: If you scanned a barcode prior to this, you will need to press
[ENTER] in order to respond to the quantity question on the screen.
End The [END] key is similar to the escape key on a PC and can be used to
take you back to the previous screen or change modes.
Shift The [SHIFT] key allows you to use other keys in conjunction with the
[FUNCTION] key to produce special characters (e.g., + . = etc.).
While ordering, the [SHIFT] key is not needed. If the word SHIFT is
displayed on the screen, you should press [SHIFT] again to get out of shift
mode.
If you have problems with CRIP, it could be that you are not in shift mode
when you should be.
Search for item Scan or key enter the item. There is a Search function that can be utilized
—press the [S] key, type in the item code, press the [ENTER] key.
Scanning or key entering the order code will also display the item.

the item appears in the display. Because you are using the yellow arrows,
the unit indicates review mode with the word “REVIEW” in the display.
Press the [DELETE] key. The screen will display “DELETE ARE YOU
SURE YES/NO”. Press the [ENTER] key if you really want to delete it,
then press the [END] key to return to ordering.
Screen brightness Press the [-] or [+] key at the top of the keypad just below the “batt” and
“func” displays.
Adjust volume From the SVIOE main menu, press the [X] key, then highlight the sound
option preferred and press [ENTER]. (If you are not at the SVIOE main
menu, press [END] until you are.) The default setting is “LOUD.”
At TAG SEND FILES, select the file(s) by highlighting the file and
pressing the [ENTER] key. The departments that are tagged to send will
have an asterisk by them. Repeat for each department that must be sent.

Dated Orders Dated orders should NEVER be placed on the Telxon. They must be
done on SVHarbor using eOrder to ensure dates are honored and
ABS pricing and/or ad allowances are received.

the menu option “Purchase Flag” and press the [ENTER] key.
Backroom From the “Data Entry” menu, press the [ENTER] key, then highlight
the menu option “Backroom” and press the [ENTER] key. Scan or enter
the item code and quantity desired. The procedure is identical to that of

In the “RSVP - Scan Only” mode, stores can verify the accuracy of shelf labels and shelf talkers
by category, section, aisle, or department. The “RSVP - Scan Only” mode is used for shelf label

NOTE:
If you receive an error “Invalid Label Type”, move to the next label.
RSVP is available for Common Code labels (Code 128 seven digit) only.

error means the terminal was unable to read the bar code scanned.
General hints:
- All data must be key entered – NO SCANNING
- An equal sign (=) is entered by pressing the [FUNCTION] key and the [G]
- A plus sign (+) is entered by pressing the [FUNCTION] key and the [H]
Optional: Type in the effective date. If no date is entered, the CRIP will be assumed to be
effective immediately.
To type in the date, use the format MM.DD.YY where MM is the month, DD is the day, and YY
represents the year. Don’t forget to enter the periods!
Example:
If you cannot get the periods to display, be sure to check the ‘mode’ you are in and toggle it with
the [SHIFT] key.
NOTE: F1, F2, F3, or F4 consists of two separate keys—the letter key and the number key--not
the yellow notations above the black and white letter keys.

Key in the price (always using a decimal point) and press [ENTER]
Example: 3263207F4 [ENTER] .89 [ENTER]
Remember to always use a decimal point in the price, the cents markup, or percent.
To enter a multiple unit price: type in the multiple, the letter F, and the price.
Examples: 3F1.00 4F.89 3F1.29
When entering a percentage, you should use a decimal point followed by a single digit.
Examples: 8.5 25.5 12.0 30.6
If you use F3 type CRIP and want to sell a product below cost, type a negative (using the - key)
after you enter the cents markup.
Example: To sell a product five cents below cost, you would type .05-[ENTER]
The only difference between CRIP by range and CRIP a single item is that you follow the first
line entry with a second line entry that contains the equal sign and the ending SV code.
Example: Using a type F2 with a range:
3280001F2 [ENTER]
=3281000 [ENTER]
20.0 [ENTER]
This would CRIP in all of the items from 328-0001 to 328-1000 at 20.0%
Department overrides
To move items from one department to another for billing and gross profit reasons, you simply
type in the beginning code, an equal sign, the ending code, another equal sign (if you are doing a
range of item codes), and the department code.
Example: Move a deli item to grocery
8030000=01 [ENTER]
Example: Move all items in the 803 code range to grocery:
8030000=8039999=01 [ENTER]
The beginning item code in this entry must be an active item; otherwise, the entry will be
rejected.
The department numbering system can be obtained from SV’s Retail Pricing Department.
If you desire to track items in a new department, please contact Retail Accounting and ask them
which department number they will use on the P&L. Then use these procedures to CRIP the
items to the “new’ department.” Your RBC can assist you in analyzing the profitability of this
new department.

An alternate method would be for the retailer to
work with SV’s Order Desk (262-947-9410) to have
the header changed by them immediately following
order transmission, thereby eliminating the need to
program and then reprogram the unit.
4) Call Region Retail Technology to have emergency
unit sent UPS.
5) Denver Customer Service (DCS) can take the order
over the phone or via fax. If faxing, the retailer must
contact DCS prior to faxing their order (onshore
888-222-1033; offshore 303-363-5905). DCS will
contact Region Retail Technology for replacement.
