Purpose of Plan

According to the Human Development Index (HDI), 60.3% of Pakistan's population lives on under
$2 a day and due to number factors like (fall in trade and manufacturing activities due to threats of
terrorism and energy crises) this income rate is decreasing contineously which in result making it very
difficult for the poor population to even get the basic health facilities.

Hospital-1 ( declared trust in Feraury 2011) is working for the last three years to provide services to
people who don’t have access to necessary helth care facilities.

Background Information

For almost a decade, Shah Group is in trading of surgical and hospital equipments and in the business of
walk in clinics in Ontario Canada. The group recently entered in hospital business; and its first well
equipped hospital is located in Lahore Pakistan serving number of people having limited or no approach to
basic health facilities and now intents to establish a chain of hospitals through out Pakistan.

Our Mission

The mission of Hospital-1 is to provide health facilities to the people who don’t have or limited access to
expensive medical and surgical treatment. This trust organization operates on the principle that all people
should have access to the basic health facilities. We strive to accomplish our goals working independently
and trying to make it easy for each and every deserving individual to get right treatment “in time” so that a
valuable human life can be saved.

Overall Goals and Objectives

Our overall goal and objective is to focus on providing indistinct services to all level of communities
by
− Establishing chain of hospitals within the city and all over Pakistan with above mentioned aim.
− Improving the quality of services and ensuring that patients will get right treatment either
general or surgical under one roof.
− Enhances the ability and effectiveness of staff to perform their jobs.
− To establish well equipped Operation Theaters, ICU, General Wards and Rooms, Dental
Surgery unit, pharmacy, well equipped laboratory and 24 hrs ambulance service.
− Provides high levels of Customer care services.
− To become top rated service provider within 2 to 3 years, by establishing a marketing and
advertising department, so that trust starts generating revenue and be able to bear its own
expenditures for the coming years.
− To establish research and development center for the purpose of injecting new ideas and
updating the overall system time by time
− To establish Compliance and Control Department to ensure that every deserving individual is
getting the right service.

Blood Pressure Patients.

OUR YEAR WISE EXPENDITURE ANALYSIS

OUR SOURCE OF FUND

Funds required by us to meet our day to day expenditures are mainly provided by our trustee and
during the last two years our trustee has spend an amount of Rs. 70.00 Million for the success of our
mission a brief summary of which is given below.

• During the years 2009 we have successfully provided health care services to, 2805 (Two
Thousand Eight Hundred and Five) patients. All the expenditures including building renovation,
purchase of equipment and tools, surgical and medical treatment of deserving people, other
miscellaneous expenditures have been bear by our trustee himself and the total of expenditure during
the year 2009 was Rs. 30.000 Million.
• However during the year 2010 with increase in number of patients i.e. from 2805 to 3381 the
overall expenditure has also been effected by other factors like the increase in prices of fuel and
other commodities, imposition of taxes etc and the amount boosted to Rs. 40.000 Million i.e. a rise
of 33% has been observed.
• With increase in population, health problems are also emerging rapidly other factors like
increasing inflation etc forced us to give a 35% rise in our expenditure budget and during the year
2011 we are expecting our expenditure budget to be Rs. 54.000 Million
Presenting the above data graphically we will get the following picture.

FUTURE PLANS

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Our future plan is to improve the current facilities and services and to become a top rated health services
provider.

Upgrading current facilities include the following.

− Upgrade necessarily equipped operation theaters to well equipped OT’s

− Establish Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Care Unit
− Upgrade lab facilities
− To install X-Ray machine
− To hire highly skilled professionals to operate already installed equipment like Ultrasound
Machine, Dialyses Machine
− To Install uninterrupted power supply equipment and generator to avoid any unpleasant
situation in case of electricity failure
− Pharmacy within the hospital premises
− Ambulances to provide 24 hrs emergency services
− To install proper safety systems including fire fighting equipment and security cameras
installation
− To upgrade communication system
− To establish customer care, Control, research and development and marketing &
advertising departments.

However, our trustee is bearing day to day expenditures independently but today’s tough economic
conditions make it difficult for “Hospital -1 Trust” to meet those expenditures. Moreover, to improve our
services, as we mentioned above, is not possible for our trust without help of good hearted people like you
