WRITTEN TEST AND/OR INTERVIEW.
Candidates   are   requested   to   report   to   the   respective   Head   of   Department/   Centre/   School   and 
Conveners   of   IDP   groups   at  8:30   a.m.   on   schedule  date   of   Written   Test   and/or  Interview.   Only  successful 
candidates   in   the   written   test   will   be   interviewed   as   per   schedule.   Interviews   will   be   conducted   in 
respective departments. The Interview may continue on the next day, if required.

Please note:
• The ORIGINAL certificate of educational qualification, date of birth, GATE score card (attested Xerox 
copy of GATE score card, if the original is not available) are to be produced at the time of Written Test 
and/or Interview. 
• Please note that the result of Written Test and/or Interview is likely to be declared on 25th May 2011 for 
all   disciplines.   The   same   will   be   made   available   on   the   Institute   website 
http://www.iitb.ac.in/academic/ mtech.jsp. If selected, the admission offer letter will be sent to you 
by email. 
• If selected, you will  be required to  confirm your seat  by paying fees, deposits  and Hostel rent  {  as 
mentioned in the  Appendix C Table I: Fees, Deposits & Hostel Rents of the M.Tech. Information 
Brochure   2011   (page   no.   22   &   23)  by   way   of  Debit   Card   (ATM   card)/Credit   card/   SBI 
Banking/Online Payment System/Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Registrar, IIT Bombay" payable 
at State Bank of India/Canara Bank, IIT Powai branch/Mumbai branch indicating your Name, GATE Reg. 
No., choice, Birth category and Email ID on reverse of the Demand Draft. The draft may be submitted in 
person to Academic Section or sent by post to the Dy.Registrar (Academic), IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai­
400 076. 
For payment of  fees by  Debit Card/Credit card/ SBI Banking/Online Payment System, you  can  login  
into   the   M.Tech.   Admission   Online   webpage   “http://www.iitb.ac.in/mtechapp”   using   your  GATE 
registration number  and Secret Key, given above in this letter.
• Please   note   that   the   interview   date   cannot   be   postponed.   However,   in   case   the   candidates   having 
University Examination on above dates may contact concerned Head of the Departments. 
However, the decision of the concerned HOD for conducting interview on the above given dates will be 
final.     
• Out station candidates who needs  Hostel Accommodation  at the time of interview will be provided 
Hostel  Accommodation  in  the  Hostel No.   1  to  9,  12  & 13  (male  candidates)  &  Hostel  No.10   &  11 
(female candidates) .  They are required to pay the charges as per Institute rules for their proposed stay 
for a day or two.

HOW TO REACH IIT BOMBAY
• After reaching CST/Thane/Kurla/Dadar take a “Local train (slow)” to come to “Kanjur Marg” which is 
the nearest station from IITB. From Kanjurmarg, take Autorickshaw/Taxi and come to IIT Bombay.  

• After   reaching     Mumbai   Central/   Dadar/Bandra/Borivali//take   a   “Local   train   (slow)”   to   come   to 
“Andheri” . From Andheri take Autorickshaw/Taxi  and come to IIT Bombay.
