Ron Natinsky: Fiscal Conservative Republican or RINO?

1. Although he claims to be a fiscal conservative and repeatedly reminds voters he voted against the 2009 tax increase by the city
council, Ron Natinsky voted for tax increases both in 2005 and 2007. (Dallas Observer, 4/25/11)
2. In probably the most egregious insider deal made by Natinsky during the campaign, the Dallas Observer exposed a sweetheart
deal between Dean Foods and the city negotiated by Natinsky’s campaign treasurer and former Dean Board Vice Chair, Pete
Schenkel. In the article titled,
“Council Considers Tax Break For Company Represented by Ron Natinsky's Campaign Treasurer Even Though It Doesn't
Need It”
The article went on to say: ‘At tomorrow's meeting, the city council is expected to approve a tax abatement estimated at approximately
$1.7 million and an economic grant of $250,000 for Dean Foods. Pete Schenkel, a consultant for Dean who previously served as vice
chair of its board, says the nation's largest dairy producer will proceed with its plans to add around $85 million to the tax base
regardless of whether the council approves the items.
However, Schenkel stresses Dean's decision to renovate property near Mountain Creek Lake instead of building its new manufacturing
plant at a site in Virginia was based on conversations he had with city officials and council members.
"Based on maybe a wink of the eye or something, we felt we would be able to get a tax arrangement with the city," he tells
Unfair Park.
Schenkel, a member of the Dallas Citizens Council, is the treasurer for mayoral candidate Ron Natinsky. When asked if he discussed
the abatement and grant with Natinsky, who chairs the council's Economic Development Committee, Schenkel says he spoke to
"every council member."
But that's not what Natinsky says. He claims the first time he heard about the issue was when it reached his committee for a March 7
briefing. Yet the memo about the briefing was sent March 4, and Natinsky mentioned the investment by Dean at a March 3 press
conference outside City Hall. (Dallas Observer, April 12, 2011)

3. In his TV commercial, Natinsky claims credit for bringing Comerica Bank to Dallas. In an article dated April 15, 2011 ‘Fact
Checking’ the commercial The Dallas Morning News said, “But there is some question about his degree of involvement in
Comerica’s corporate relocation from Detroit, which was announced in March 2007. The company decided very quietly to relocate to
Dallas with the help of $3.5 million in funds from the state enterprise fund. Karl Zavitkovsky, who heads the city’s economic
development department, said he couldn’t recall what council members, if any, were aware the move was in the works.” The News
rated the TV commercial as ‘Stretches the truth a bit’. (DMN, April 15, 2011)
4. Natinsky took 17 junkets to foreign countries since 2005. 13 trips to China, Taiwan and South Korean, one to Madrid and
Paris and one each to Canada, Mexico City and Brazil. A search on the City of Dallas website and the Economic Development
Committee meeting agendas can find no reports on what was accomplished on any of these trips nor what positive impact these trips
had on bringing jobs to Dallas. (no reports found on city hall website)
5. Natinsky is in FAVOR of selling U.S. Citizenship. Foreigners with as little as $500,000 in cash have been able to invest their
way to a quick green card, putting them on the path to citizenship. The program was designed to encourage foreign investors to create
jobs by starting a new business or preserve jobs by investing in money-losing businesses. If they agree to invest $1 million, foreigners
can get a visa, apply for green cards, and become conditional permanent residents.
6. In 2010 Natinsky voted in FAVOR of ‘Meet and Confer’ with the Police and Fire Unions. At the heart of meet and confer is
an attempt to effectively unionize public employees in Texas. No wonder he got their endorsement before any other candidate was
interviewed!
7. In a forum co-sponsored by the Greater Dallas Republicans, Natinsky came out IN SUPPORT of casino gambling in Dallas.
Every Republican State Representative in Dallas County but one opposes casino gambling in Texas. (from video of forum on April 16,
2011)
8. In 2008, The Dallas Morning News headlined a story: “Dallas City Council member Ron Natinsky's taxpayer-funded
promotional items top $12,000” The article went on to state, “Earlier this month, we noted that District 12 Dallas City Council
member Ron Natinsky had purchased a number of trinkets -- plastic pizza cutters, tape measures, letter openers and dish scrubbers,
among others -- with his name on them. The bankrollers? Dallas taxpayers. “I don't see anything wrong with this," said Mr. Natinsky,
chairman of the council's economic development committee. Where did he purchase these trinkets? From a friend in Richardson.
(DMN, October 27, 2008)

Don’t be fooled! Natinsky talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk. 100% RINO.
PASS THIS ON!
