To optimise your propulsion plant.

From the Engine Specialist, a System to monitor the TecnoVeritas -
vessel propulsion plant performance. Services of
Engineering & Systems
Technology Ltd.

TAS is the result of combining TecnoVeritas knowledge on

propulsion plants and electronics.

TAS is a full graphic portable system developed to monitor

propulsion plant performance easily and accurately. Op-
erational variables like:

Shaft Power (kW or HP);

Shaft Torque (kNm);

Shaft Speed (RPM);

Shaft Thrust (kN);

Torsional Vibration Spectra (frequency analysis).

Instant, or averaged values can be visualised in a real time

mode on the large graphical display of the portable unit,
and stored for further analysis using the TAS Torsional
Analysis Software in a computer.

No cables or slip rings are needed, only radio telemetry for

you comfort. A 36 grams radio emitter is placed on the ro-
tating shaft for signal conditioning of a and transmission of
the full bridge strain gage data to the portable unit.

TAS can read simultaneously two channels (two shafts, or

torque and thrust on the same shaft);

a particular cylinder of a par-
ticular engine can be under
continuous monitoring.

EPA systems allow also the

correction of the engine pa-
rameters like: maximum com-
bustion pressure, compression
pressure, exhaust gas tem-
peratures and scavenging
pressures for different ambient
conditions, identifying the de-
viations and performing diag-
nosis. Menu for cylinder selection

TAS Software analysis

tools

TAS software is easy to

use. You only need to in-
put shaft dimensions and
material properties such as
Poisson ratio and Modulus
of Elasticity, on the com-
puter or on the portable
unit, and start measuring.

Technology Ltd.

It is possible to see in a real time mode the data being ac-

quired, and to treat it after the tests. Torque and Thrust
can be analysed by using Fast Fourrier Transforms analysis
identifying abnormal frequencies and amplitudes.

Averaged Shaft Torque

Averaged Shaft Power

Averaged Power, Torque and Speed can be treated by us-

ing statistical built in tools and studied with rigour by using
the fine cursors.
