PROJECT 1:

Client: Verizon wireless, Tampa, Florida Oct’ 10 – Till Date

Role: Informatica Developer

Description: Developed and Maintained the Extract, Transform and load process from
legacy sources to target data mart called CSSS (Customer service support system). The
call data extracted from various operational sources was loaded into a central data
warehouse to keep a track of customer call activity and peak times.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performance tuning ETL process to optimize load and query
Performance.
• Added and modified Informatica mappings and sessions to improve performance,
accuracy, and maintainability of existing ETL functionality. Recommended additions
and modifications where
appropriate.
• Responsible for administration of Informatica Environment. Created users and
groups, configured profiles and privileges. Created folders and configured folder
security. Configured shared folders
for re-usable objects.
• Wrote SQL overrides in source qualifiers for extracting only the required rows for
optimal performance. Created complex transformations using
connected/unconnected Lookup Procedure.
• Created mappings using transformations like Source Qualifier, Aggregator,
Expression, lookup, Router, Filter, Update Strategy, Joiner, Union, and Stored procedure,
and XML transformations.
• Worked on Informatica Power Center tools – Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer,
Mapping & Mapplet Designer, and Transformation Developer.
• Maintained warehouse metadata, naming standards and warehouse standards for
future application development.
• Scheduling and Loading data process and monitoring the ETL Process.
• Used various data Sources like Flat Files, Relational Tables and
COBOL Copybooks.
• Developed, implemented and enforced ETL best practices standards.
• Performance tuning and bottleneck resolution.
• Involved in writing, testing, and implementation of the triggers, stored procedures,
functions at Database level and form level using SQL.
• Extensively used Stored Procedures for Pre Session and Post Session Data Loading
• Debugged the mappings using the Debugger facility in Informatica. Used the target
load order feature for loading tables with constraints.
• Provided production support by monitoring the processes running daily.
• Identified the bottlenecks and improved overall performance of the sessions
Environment: Informatica Power Center 8.0, Oracle 10g, SQL.

PROJECT 2:

Client: Dupont Pharma, ilmington, DELAWARE July’ 09 – Sep’ 10

Sales Data Mart

Role: ETL Developer

Description: Worked as an ETL Developer for Dupont Pharma, which is a

pharmaceutical company, which produces and distributes pharmacy products across the
globe. Dupont Pharma was involved in building and maintaining a sales data mart for
recording sales at different regions across the country. This plays a major role in
enabling marketing departments to view the data at a lowest level and help the top
management to make business decisions, in order to generate more revenue to
company.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzed the requirements to identify the necessary tables that need to be populated
into the staging database.
• Developed ETL mappings, Transformations and Loading using Informatica Power
Center
• Developed mappings and workflows as per business logic, quality and coding
standards prescribed for the module using Informatica Power Center 8.
• Performance tuning and bottleneck resolution.
• Created mappings using transformations like Source Qualifier, Aggregator,
Expression, lookup, Router, Filter, Update Strategy, Joiner, Union, and Stored
procedure, and XML transformations.
• Worked on Informatica Power Center tools – Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer,
Mapping & Mapplet Designer, and Transformation Developer.
• Converted existing PL/SQL Packages to ETL Mappings using Informatica Power
Center.
• Used Error handling strategy for trapping errors in a mapping and sending errors to
an error table.
• Used Workflow Manager for creating workflows, work lets, email and command tasks.
• Used FTP connection objects to retrieve Flat Files from the external sources.
• Involved in Performance Tuning at various levels including Target, Source, Mapping,
and Session for large data files.
• Worked on Migration Strategies between Development, Test and Production
Repositories.
• Developed mapping document indicating the source tables, columns, data types,
transformation required, bulk loading routines, business rules, target tables, columns
and data types.
Environment: Informatica Power Center 8.0, Oracle 10g, SQL.

PROJECT 3:

Client: Kia Motors, CANADA April’ 08 – June’09

Role: Informatica Developer

Description: KIA’s effort to create an Enterprise Data Warehouse is driven by the

decision makers need to be armed with current and accurate information from multiple
departments to quickly access the impact of challenges in baseline assumptions. It
involves determining business information needs, identifying correct information
sources and providing a high level design for the EDW, Data marts and the ETL
processes to load source data into the EDW and generate reports according to client
requirements for each department.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Developing Informatica development life cycle process documents.

• Prepared high-level design specification document, Informatica Mapping specification
documents for all the Transformations used in the project.
• Developed Informatica mappings using heterogeneous sources like flat files and
different relational databases, Mapplets, Mappings using Power center Designer.
• Implemented Aggregate, Filter, Join, Expression, Lookup and Update Strategy
transformations. Used debugger to test the mapping and fixed the bugs.
• Extensively used Informatica debugger to figure out the problems in mappings. Also
involved in troubleshooting existing ETL bugs.
• Developed mapping document indicating the source tables, columns, data types,
transformation required, bulk loading routines, business rules, target tables, columns
and data types.
• Analyzed the Data models of the source systems to develop Mapping Specs.
• Involved in unit testing, systems testing, integrated testing and user acceptance
testing.
• Involved in 24x7 production support.

Environment: Informatica Power Center 8.0, Oracle 10g, SQL.
