This circuit uses a 555 timer integrated circuit to generate a 1Hz clock signal. The 555 timer operates as an astable multivibrator, toggling its output pin between high and low states at a frequency determined by the resistor and capacitor values. This 1Hz clock can be used to drive digital circuits and allows observing the logic decisions occurring each second. It produces a square wave output toggling the states of two LEDs.
