SDSU took on I-29 rival NDSU Nov. 6th to im-
prove to a 14-13 overall record. This was the
Jacks first time beating the Bison since 2007!
Kelli Fiegen led the Jacks with 13 kills, two
solo blocks, and three block assists. Kaitlin
Klingemann added 11 kills, three aces, two block
assists and a solo block!
Thyele Rechatiko
continued of improving her
record with 40 set assists
for her 16th double - double
of the season.
The first three sets saw
just seven ties and single lead change, but that trend came
to a screeching halt in the fourth set, which featured 14 tie
scores and eight lead changes.
Down 11-8 the Jacks rattled off a 9-1 run to go up 17-12,
but the Bison answered with an 8-3 run to tie the match at 20-
all. A back-and-forth followed, with the Bison getting once
chance at set point, and the
Jacks one chance at match
point before they capitalized
the second time on block as
sists from Klingemann and
Youngren.

SDSU football improved to 4-5 overall and 4-3

in the Missouri Valley Football Conference after
a dominating win over Missouri State.
Cole Brodie set SDSU up on midfield with a 20-
yard punt return. Then quaterback Thomas
O’Brien completed a pair of third-down passes-
to Brandon Hubert for 25 yards and another to
running back Tyler Duffy, who made an acrobatic catch on the sideline
to give SDSU first and goal. Duffy capped the nine play drive with a
3-yard touchdown run. A bobbled snap on the extra-point
attempt, kept the score at 6-3.
SDSU extended their lead to 13-3 in the second quar-
ter on a 4-yard touchdown by Kyle Minett.
SDSU put the game out of reach midway through the third
quarter as O’Brien hooked up with Trevor Tiefenthaler on
a 4-yard touchdown pass and then found tight end Alex
Beyer for the two-point conversion to make the score 24-
10. Brodie closed out the scoring with a 55-yard inter-
ception return for a touch down late in the fourth quar
ter. It was Brodie’s pick-six of the season
and team-leading fourth interception.
