D. Research infrastructure
List the needed research facilities, equipments or instruments that are available or can be
accessed for the implementation of the proposed research.
Principal equipments will be used for perform of the project include some one of Key State
Laboratory of Institute of Materials Science (IMS) as following:
1. Wet chemical equipments for the preparation of “giant” quantum dots and nano- composites
(room 312, A2).
2. UV-VIS-NIR absorption spectrometer (room 312, A2)
3. High resolution photoluminescente system (rooms 208, 209, 210, A2)
4. Ultra high resolution scanning electron microscopy FESEM S-4800 (room 202/A2)
5. Scaning Probe microscopy (SPM) and AFM- Atomic Force Microscope (A2)
6. X – ray diffractometer (at IMS and/or at Faculty of Physics, University of Natural Science,
HNU).
7. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) at Hanoi.
8. High Resolution Transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) at “Institut des NanoSciences
de Paris”, Université Pierre - Marie et Diderot, Paris, France.
9. The photoluminescence decays will be analyzed with the system of a PM Hamamatsu
R5600U and a scope Tektronix TDS 784A with a time constant of the order of 1 ns. The low
temperature experiments will be carried out in a Janis Supertran-VP dewar with a variable
temperature controlled between 4 to 300 K. These instrument systems are available and can be
accessed at “Institut des NanoSciences de Paris”, Université Pierre - Marie et Diderot, Paris,
France.
10. The inverted fluorescent microscope (Olympus IX71) with a mercury lamp for the light
source, a 100× 1.4 NA objective, and adapted filters will be used to observe and detect “single-
QD blinking”. This microscope is available at “Institut des NanoSciences de Paris”. Prof. Agnes
Maitre.
11. Investigation of optical properties of g-QDs onto opal photonic crystal will be performed at
“Institut des NanoSciences de Paris”. Prof. Agnes Maitre and Prof. Hanjo Lim, Ajou University,
Korea.
12. Equipments for making nano-composite and for electro-optical effect measurements are
available at the Divison of Energy Systems Research (DESR), Ajou University, Korea. Prof.
Soonil Lee. and Prof. Hanjo Lim.
