Visitors, welcome.
We hope you are blessed through worshiping with us this Palm Sunday.
 Rev. M. Roberts of Scotland will lead our worship services, today.
 Pastor L. W. Bilkes will lead our Good Friday service held on Friday,
April 22 at 7 PM, the Lord willing.
 Next Sunday, Resurrection Lord’s Day, Dr. Jerry Bilkes will conduct our
worship services.
 We rejoice with our two theological student families, Seth and Misty
Huckstead, Robert and Taunya VanDoodewaard who hope to bring their
dear infants before the Lord and the congregation for the sacrament of
baptism next Lord’s Day. Timothy James Huckstead and Kezia Leigh
VanDoodewaard will receive the sign and seal of covenant baptism in the
morning service, the Lord willing. Truly, we may say with Hannah from I
Samuel 1:27, “For this child I prayed; and the Lord has given me my
petition which I asked of him:”
 The Sunday School/Catechism classes’ (beginners – 7 grade) Psalter of

the month is #362: 1, 2, 3. Please review with your children.
 Thursday, May 5, our National Day of Prayer, we plan to have a prayer
service at 7:00PM. Dr. Jerry Bilkes is planning to lead this service for us.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend with your family.
2 Chronicles 7:12-14
The terms of elders Tom Karel and Peter VanKempen and deacon Joel
Markwat have expired. They are re-electable for a second three year term.
The consistory has nominated brothers Tom Karel Sr., Tom Moerdyk, Jim
Vander Graaf, and Peter Van Kempen to serve as elders, and, the brothers
Joel Markwat and Bill Pols to serve as deacon. At the membership meeting
two elders will need to be chosen and one deacon. Absentee ballots for the
selection of these office bearers may be submitted to any current consistory
member in separate signed and sealed envelopes (include printed name
and signature on the outside of the envelope please) for elders and for
deacon.
Please make every effort to be present at this important meeting of the
voting members with the consistory, April 20 at 7:00 pm. Various reports
will be shared at this meeting. Please remember this meeting in your family
prayers before the throne of God’s grace.
Derek Naves, is serving our congregation in an internship over the next few
months. He will be visiting with Pastor L.W. Bilkes and will be involved with
congregational activities. This internship is in partial fulfillment of his Master
of Divinity degree with PRTS.
The consistory recommends two books for your edification. The Secession
of 1834 by Dr. Arie Baars and God’s Yea and Your Amen by L. H. van der
Meiden. You can find these in the Narthex.
Dorcas Guild: Our project for April is Hope Totes for Mel Trotter. Please
bring the tote back to church today, April 17.
~ PRTS News ~
You are cordially invited to attend two Puritan Reformed Theological
Seminary events. First is our 2011 graduation on May 6, at 7:30 p.m. The
second is a public address on May 10, at 7:30 p.m. This year’s speaker
for both events is Dr. Joseph Pipa, President of Greenville Presbyterian
Theological Seminary, and Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology.
Dr. Pipa’s charge to the graduating class is entitled The Necessity of
Finishing Well (1 Tim. 4:12-16). His Tuesday evening message is entitled
The Purpose of Worship. You will not want to miss hearing these
encouraging, yet challenging messages. For more information, call Chris

be delivered at Heritage Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 540
Crescent St., NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Dr. Pipa’s second address will

Rapids, MI 49525.

 We would like to express our sincere thank you to our church family on
the outpouring of love, prayers, visits, meals and cards that came our way in
the recent and sudden passing of our dear father, grandfather and brother-
in-law. Your kindnesses are much appreciated. Please continue to
remember our family in the difficult days ahead. Matthew 5: 4 “Blessed are
they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Tim, Julie Travis & Trent

 We are thankful that Howard's heart procedures were successful. He
will need to return to the hospital May 6 for one more procedure; a
