Know your Summary Screen; this holds the key to identity of your Pokémon:
This is a guide to helping you spot a hacked Pokémon. In this guide I will point
out the most obvious signs of a hacked Pokémon. Some useful terms I will be using
include:
Hacked Pokémon:
A Pokémon obtained by the use of a cheating device such as an Action Replay or in-
game glitches.
Event Pokémon:
A Pokémon obtained through a Nintendo special
event. A list o these Pokémon can be found here:
http://www.serebii.net/games/events-pkmn.shtml
Shadow/ex-shadow/Purified Pokémon:
Special Pokémon obtained in Pokémon Colosseum
and Pokémon XD on the Gamecube. Ex-shadow
Pokémon (also called Purified) Pokémon may have
odd moves; this happens in XD, see the link here:
http://www.serebii.net/xd/pokemon-attacks.shtml All
purified Pokémon have a special ribbon, see the
Ribbon feature.
AR:
AR stands for Action Replay a type of cheating device used to force Pokémon
encounters, make Hacked Pokémon or gain impossible to obtain items.
Semi-Legit Pokémon:
A Pokémon captured by using a hacked item. For example someone uses an AR to
obtain the Azure Flute, they then proceed to use the Azure Flute to unlock the Arceus
Event in their game and catch it the regular way.
Id number
To my knowledge I have never seen a Pokémon game generate an ID number with only
0. Some hacked Pokémon (often made with the help of Pokémon Maker programes)
often have the ID number of 00000. Watch out for this and refuse a trade if you see this
trainer ID.
This brings me to the Pal Park and its ability to over write some of the trainer memo
details.
Pal Park
This can over write some of the trainer memo details. For this experiment I will do a
fresh pal park transfer and note the trainer memos of the six Pokémon both before and
after the transfer

Moves known:
Pokémon have set moves to learn during level up and from the use of TMs and HMs. I
once saw a Charizard with the move Tail Glow, after a quick check of Charizard’s move
list and knew something was up. It turns out it had the trainer number of 00000 the give
away hack ID number. Checking the move lists will keep you a head of the hackers.

Condition:
Any Pokémon with maxed out condition
in all areas is likely to be hacked or
tampered in some way. I think this is
imposable without cheats, but if anyone
has done it and has proof then please
email me
Ribbons owned
Watch out for special Ribbons like the
National Ribbon. This Ribbons given to all
ex-shadow Pokémon and there are only a
select number of them.
This Classic ribbon is on all Cherish Ball
Event Pokémon. This Ribbon prevents the Pokémon from entering the GTS, so don’t
expect to pick one up in there.
Ball of capture
An easy way to spot a hacked Pokémon is watching out for the ball of capture. This is
visible on the status screen next to the Pokémon’s Nickname. A hacker will generally
use a Master Ball to capture Pokémon. Event Pokémon were given away in Pokéballs in
the Third Gen games. Now in the Fourth Gen they use Cherish Balls. Also certain
Pokémon like the starters can only be obtained in Pokéballs. The exception here is
Bayleef, Croconaw and Quilava which can be caught in Master Balls in Pokémon
Colosseum.
Darkrai:
The 491st Pokémon given away during the showing of the 10th
Pokémon Movie: Dialgia Vs Palkia Vs Darkrai. This is the only
legit Darkrai at this present time.
Trainer Memo:
(Random) Nature.
Jul. 14, 2007
Pokémon Movie 07
Apparently had a fateful encounter at Lv. 50.
(Random Trainer notes)
Battle moves:
• Nightmare
• Spacial Rend
• Hypnosis
• Roar of Time
Ribbons:
Classic Ribbon
Watch out for all for this if you are on the hunt for a movie Darkrai. Don’t except a hack.
Only the movie Darkrai will know Spacial Rend (a move known only by Palkia) and
Roar of Time (a move known only by Dialgia). It will also have the Classic Ribbon.
