COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE:
Development Coordinator, Sharia Academy of America; New Brighton, MN 03/2010-Present
• Solicit various organizations and individuals nationally to support the SAA
• Design and execute fundraising events around the country
• Maintain a regular database of donors
• Promote and represent SAA to public
Office Manager, Islamic Center of Tucson; Tucson, AZ 01/2010 -- Present
• Direct all communications to appropriate community members
• Communicate needs (daily and otherwise) with President and Treasurer
• Respond to requests for info from Masjid website
• Perform public relations with both Muslim and Non-Muslim 'clients' seeking information/services
• Act as intake professional for need based cases and arrange for resolution whenever possible
• Provide first level answers to religious questions to both Muslim and Non-Muslim, referring them
to a scholar when they need more detail.
Daa'ee & Khateeb, A Good Word Da'wah Center; Green Valley, AZ 01/1998-Present
• Founded Da'wah organization to represent my activities.
• Lectured on various topics at different Masaajid (especially Purification of the Heart and An-
Nawawee's Forty Hadeeth)
• Guest Khateeb at dozens of Masaajid around Twin Cities, and Arizona.
• Over 10 years of experience in Da'wah, especially with youth and New-Muslims/Non-Muslims.
• Worked/working with Da'wah Committees of Daar al-Faarooq, the Building Blocks of Islaam, &
the Islamic Center of Tucson.
• Founded and taught Islaam 101 and 102 (8 week courses in fundamentals of the religion)
• Lead discussion group on Mukhtasar Minhaaj al-Qaasideen.
President, Assistant Imaam, & Care Taker, Masjid at-Taqwa, St. Paul, MN 02/2000-11/2002
• Ran Board meetings; setting agenda and make sure to keep on track and timely.
• Represented Masjid to outside organizations.
• Handle first-level religious issues, also delivering Khutbahs in Imaam's absence.
• Regularly cleaned Masjid and handled all correspondence/phone calls.
• Acted as Assistant Principal/Administrator for Week-end school.
Member Board of Directors, CAIR-MN, Minneapolis, MN 10/1999-12/2001
• Participated in meetings to establish Vision Statement, Goals, and other particulars of initial
incorporation.
• Interviewed community members who would bring issues to us for our advocacy.
• Designed and presented Diversity Training to Metropolitan Airports Commission in response to
cab-driver issues.
• Negotiated with Metropolitan Airports Commission regarding cab-driver issues.
• Attended National Leadership training in DC sponsored by National Office.
