RIDER 10-8
RESIDENTIAL ENERGY STORAGE

I. AVAILABILITY
Service is available to customers of Northeastern REMC (Northeastern) who are eligible for Schedule 10-
1 (Residential Service). This rate schedule is for electrical energy storage systems capable of storing
energy during off-peak hours for use during on-peak hours. Equipment served under this rate schedule
includes, but is not limited to, electric thermal storage heating devices, domestic water heating equipment,
and domestic cooling systems. Schedule 10-1 shall apply to all other electric energy purchased by the
customer.
II. CHARACTER O F SERVICE
The type of service rendered under this schedule shall be alternating current, sixty (60) hertz, single-
phase, three-wire at approximately 120/240 volts.
III. MONTHLY CH ARGE
Energy Charge per kWh:
KWh used during off-peak hours $0.03465
KWh used during on-peak hours $0.12000

For the purpose of this rate schedule, "off-peak hours" are defined as 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Eastern
Standard Time and "on-peak hours" are defined as 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
IV. MINIMUM MONTH LY CHARGE
The rate schedule is subject to a minimum monthly charge equal to the monthly Customer Charge in
Schedule 10-1.
V. S PECIAL TERMS AND CO NDITIO NS
In order for Northeastern to properly monitor the performance of devices and equipment served under this
rate schedule and/or to prevent any detrimental effects on its distribution facilities, Northeastern reserves
the right to inspect the devices and equipment served under this rate schedule at all reasonable times and
to install, maintain, operate and remove such metering and test equipment as it deems proper.
The meter for service under this rate schedule shall be a clock-actuated, two-register, on-peak/off-peak
kilowatt-hour meter. The clock shall be set on Eastern Standard Time and the registers shall accumulate
the kilowatt-hours for the hours specified in the monthly charge paragraph in this rate schedule.
The customer shall use electric energy supplied under this rate schedule only for devices and equipment
approved by Northeastern and connected to circuits metered as described above.
VI. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Northeastern’s Rules and Regulations on file with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission shall apply
to service under this schedule.
