PARTIAL PRETERISTIC HERMENEUTICS

Biblical Support for Early Fulfillment (The Texts)

The New Testament seems abundantly clear that Christ was coming in judgment and it would be very soon. So soon, in fact, that some of the one’s hearing Jesus speak would still be around

MATTHEW:

"Truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes." -Matt. 10:23

"Truly I say to you, there are some who are standing here who will not taste death until

they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."

-Matt. 16:28

"Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place."

-Matt. 24:34

"You [the high priest] will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven."

MARK:

-Matt. 26:64

“If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the

Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy

angels. And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste

death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

-Mark 8:38-9:1

-Romans 13:11, 12

“Brethren, the appointed time has grown very short; from now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none, and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods, and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the form of this world is passing away."
