English 341 – Assignment Six

Feasibility Report

Choose a Topic – Begin with a Real Problem

Identify a real problem in a real organization with which you are involved or familiar.
Organizations that you might consider are your job or a club/organization to which you belong
(CAS clubs, 4H, Church, etc.). You might interview a decision-maker within that organization to
discover what problems you could address. Finally, identify the problem you wish to explore,
the person to whom you will address your report, and research the feasibility of pursuing a
course of action.

Write a Proposal
Once you have identified a problem and a solution to investigate, you will need to:
• Define the problem.
• Define and profile the audience (reader, decision-maker, stakeholders, etc.).
• Identify criteria and standards.
• Research the problem using all available methods (e.g. interviews, journals, surveys,
internet research, etc.).

Then you will write a proposal to show the reader that the problem is clear and the project is
warranted (separate assignment sheet will follow).

Write a Feasibility Report

Finally, you will write a feasibility report. You will complete an oral presentation based on your
progress, which will allow for class-critique (very helpful). After that, you will write a rough
draft of the feasibility report, meet with me for revisions, and finish the course with a final draft
of the feasibility report. The final report will incorporate (but not necessarily be limited to) all
necessary elements outlined on the back of this page.
