conventional test equipment control with completely separate
applied industrial standards. The hardware is based on pro-
extern measuring devices (PD, tanδ, current, etc.). Only the

Different parts of the software (including software for control
and measurement) are connected via DCOM interfaces. Inter-
faces to outside networks, this means to a local area network
(LAN) or to wide area networks (WAN, e.g. Internet), are
realized by ETHERNET, too. The LAN connection enables
the application of external components, e.g. printers or work
stations, and the data exchange between test field and net-
work.
The WAN connection enables the data exchange between the
test fields of different factories of one group or the connection
to the HIGHVOLT Service Center for support, software up-
dates or trouble shooting.
Based on these characteristics HIGHVOLT supplies the fol-
lowing three modular versions of control and measuring sys-

Customer benefits
HIGHVOLT control and measuring systems
have a modular structure of both, hardware
and software, which enable the later exten-
sion.

The benefits of such open systems include

- longer expected system life,
- upgrade ability,
- expandability,
- investment protection,
- application of readily available third-party
component.
Implementation of HIGHVOLT control and
measuring system includes customer related
engineering, installation, testing, training,
maintenance and trouble shooting.

Application
HIGHVOLT control and measuring systems of the
described types are used for:
- all new HIGHVOLT AC/DC test systems for stationary appli-
cation in factories, research labs and universities,
- for new mobile HIGHVOLT AC/DC on-site test systems,
- for updating of older AC/DC test systems manufactured in
Dresden (TuR and Siemens types),
- updating of older AC/DC test systems of any manu-
facturer (There are references for such successful
updates in the whole world!).
