There is also real value in creating your OWN business asset. It is no exaggeration to say that much of

During 2009 and early 2010 we have appointed and trained a number of Enigin partners. Most of these
are investing in their new business by developing a marketing strategy, recruiting sales consultants and
appointing their chosen installation engineers. Some have made great progress and are already

THE ESA
Following your graduation from the Mindshare training course you will automatically qualify for an
Accredited Membership of the Energy Saving Association should you wish to join. This is a new
organisation, which has primarily been created to give Distributors of energy saving technology an
immediate sense of credibility and belonging.

ESA members get full rights to promote their business under the ESA ‘Mark of Approval’. In fact, many of
the additional marketing materials and resources, which are made available to our distributors via ECOS,
can be pre-branded with the ESA logo.

Of course, ESA membership is much more than just a logo. Crucially, it is an indication to your customers

OUR ENERGY SAVING PRODUCTS 
Having worked within the Energy Saving Business for decades, our management team and technical
partners have been closely involved with the development of several innovative and often revolutionary
energy saving products and solutions. At Enigin we have a dedicated Research and Development team
committed to delivering leading-edge solutions that are both technically brilliant and commercially sound.

As a generalised overview, what we design into equipment could be summed up in a nutshell as


‘intelligence’. In most cases we introduce sophisticated microprocessor based solutions
imbedded with unique control algorithms that constantly monitor the ‘work’ being done by an
appliance and ensure that the energy consumption is matched exactly to the required demand
(which is often variable). Of course, the methodology used within say an iMEC controller may be
completely different than that deployed within LESS, but the principles of maximising efficiency are
the same namely; we design out unnecessary waste before its generated.

Furthermore in physics, the first law of thermodynamics is a statement of the conservation of energy.
In short, the law states that “energy can neither be created nor destroyed”, it can only be changed from
one form to another or transferred from one body to another, e.g. friction turns kinetic energy into heat
(radiant energy). In other words, once energy has been absorbed by an appliance it becomes irreversible
and when not utilised to meet a demand (work) then the excess energy will be converted to losses (heat,
noise, vibration), which is then dissipated into the environment often triggering a further isentropic effect,
as evidenced in the case of an air conditioner that then has to remove all the wasted energy or
undesirable ‘heat’ from the building. Heat is actually ‘energy in motion’ and is at the root of many of
the inefficiencies.

As soon as your training is complete you will be given direct access to some of the most
efficacious energy saving solutions available on the planet… for example: -

Consider lighting…

In it’s crudest form a conventional light bulb is probably only 10% efficient – that means up to 90% of
the energy consumed is wasted and converted to heat. Conventional florescent tubes and metal halides
while more efficient still leave a lot to be desired. In many companies lighting can be a major cost.
However, we can provide you with stunning solutions that in the first place make sure that light is
produced efficiently, then with occupancy sensing ensure that lights are turned off automatically when
they are not required.  In addition, daylight harvesting ensures that light output is exactly what is
needed resulting in real savings of well over 50%. What’s more they are such easy products to
demonstrate.

How about motor controls…

AC induction motors consume more than half of all the worlds’ electricity and yet motors can be
incredibly wasteful. To tackle head on the problems associated with inefficient motors in the early 90s,
Enigin founders worked with a development team to create the world’s first truly intelligent motor
controller. In the right applications, these can save up to 40% of the energy consumed by dynamically
adjusting the amount of energy a motor uses in direct proportion to the job of ‘work’ it does.

Motors cause excess power to be consumed for any of the following reasons, or sometimes a combination
of them all:

• Variable supply voltage on the National grid

• Over-sizing of the motors at the design/specification stage

• Variable duty cycle with no intelligent way of adjusting the power to meet the demand

• The motor running needlessly when it could be turned off

• High peak starting current

• Isentropic effect

The iMEC range of dynamic torque and speed controllers can be very effective in combating
these problems. They will also extend motor life by reducing heat and vibration.

Think about refrigeration…

A significant amount of energy is used by refrigeration especially in commercial and retail


applications – apart from making the motors run more efficiently there is much that can be done to improve
the overall efficiency of the appliance. CUES is one of the most ingenious solutions you could imagine for
refrigeration, which can be easily retrofitted onto a thermostat sensor, where it changes how fridges and
freezers work by mimicking food. Rather than respond to fluctuating air temperature, CUES ensures the
refrigeration units react to food temperature only.

Refrigeration units work in a series of cycles, monitoring air temperature in order to decide when
to switch on and off. But air temperature rises faster than the temperature of food, so refrigeration
units work harder than necessary. Furthermore, refrigeration compressors invariably demand
more energy in the minutes following start-up until the required suction gas pressure is achieved.
With CUES installed the refrigeration cycles are less frequent and last longer, while food
temperature is kept constant. The benefits include up to 30% lower electricity bills, reduced CO2
emissions, a longer lifespan for equipment and potentially less noise pollution. Payback for the
customer is often well within the first two years.

Let’s look at air conditioning…

One of the superb Enigin solutions we can offer you is ACES… an intelligent system,
producing up to 30% savings in many instances. It is a sensor-driven electronic controller with
software algorithms designed to detect thermodynamic saturation and to optimise the compressor to
enable it to deliver exactly what is needed to maintain room temperature in the most economical way.

In many of the warmer countries around the world air conditioning is one of the largest energy consumers,
often accounting for a large part of a company’s energy bills. For example millions of simple air condition-
ing units waste unbelievable amounts of energy every day, and there is an estimated 300 million in daily
use. Not only is the power demand very high, but air conditioning also contributes to extreme peak energy
demand on the hottest days of the year, which the energy infrastructure has to cope with and your
customers are further penalised for.

Take control with the incredible Eniscope…

Eniscope is an incredibly powerful and sophisticated Real-time Energy Management System – and
although they are often sold independently to customers, it’s also the first product installed as part of the
new EnergyMaps Formula, which means from the outset your customer will be able to see exactly how

in the fullness of time could begin to generate much higher levels of profits for you even if you are away

Let’s consider how the numbers could work on a typical sale. 
Thinking about an example of a small customer… the cost of the basic Eniscope system would be
circa $4500. However, in our experience most businesses opt for a Pay-As-You-Save plan at a miserly
cost of $200 per month – which makes it so affordable and convenient for them. Remember, with
