Attach safety eyes to head bet Rnds 11 and 12; space
eyes about 5 sts apart. Stuff head. Attach animal nose
to snout bet Rnds 1 and 2. Be sure to insert the nose
closer to the top side (or shorter side) of snout. Sew.
snout to head, centered just below eyes. Position

to face, stuff snout lightly and finish sewing to head.
Cut 2 small white fangs from white felt and glue to
bottom of snout. Sew head to body. Flatten ears to
form semicircles, curve semicircles slightly and sew to
head, about 3 rows from top center on each side. Cut
small half-circles from gray felt and glue into ears. Sew
arms onto body. Place longer side of arms on outside
facing you, with shorter side facing body. This provides
smoother seaming. Position arms beg at neck. Cont
sewing arms to body until arms are securely attached
to body and will support bear sitting on its own. Sew
legs behind arms and extending outward from body.
Position legs in a way that will support bear sitting on
its own. Cut small paw prints from black felt and glue
onto rear paws. Sew tail onto back end of bear.
JOANNA MA first started crocheting at age eight for a
class elective in Chinese School and was told she had
no talent. So she gave up. Seventeen years later, she
picked up crochet again just for fun, made an R2D2
amigurumi for her brother's birthday out of scraps
lying around the house, and her creative juices haven't
stopped since!
