Description
I conducted a project that included the database of slaves in Louisiana. I
discovered how many male and female slaves that were present at that time and from my
research there were 39 females and 50 males present at the time. There were 10 percent
of the slaves that wasn’t counted for so, therefore, it could be more males or females that
were present.
Interpretation
There were more slaves as males than females that we know of. Why I said that is
because we still have some responds that are missing. It wasn’t any surprise that it would
be more males than females. Males are needed for their strength and their ability to work
under any circumstance. Females are able to get pregnant and wouldn’t be able to do a lot
of things.
Louisiana Slaves 3
Description
The slaves from the Louisiana database are from different regions. You have
some of the slaves from Central Africa. There were more of the slaves regions in the
missing category than any. They were also from certain areas along the coast and some
surrounding areas.
Interpretation
More of the slaves were categorized under missing. Why, I have the slightest idea
but, maybe because the slave owners didn’t know where they found the slave at or
because the slaves were hiding and capture in other areas besides their region. It could
also be because the slaves didn’t know where they came from; lets remind ourselves they
Description
The slaves that were captured and represented in the Louisiana Database all had
different background origins. You would find some that were Creoles, Africans, Indians
and some were also from the Caribbean. The slaves that were cast as unidentified could
Interpretation
I actually thought that the only slaves would be Africans. What shock me the
most was the fact that it was some Indians slaves and Creoles. I thought that those would
be the slave owners. To my surprise, slaves are develop from any type of origin; not just

Description
I really don’t know if those are words they used to describe the different race but,
I must admit I never heard of some of those words. It this graph you can see that there
were more black slaves than any other race. There was more slaves race missing than the
other race. Also there were very few of metis (white and India) slaves that were present
Interpretation
There were more blacks than any other race. Overall there were just blacks as
slaves in the Louisiana database. They outnumbered the other entire race as I expected. I
used a pie chart to demonstrate how many slaves of the different race listed and the most
come from the blacks. So, what I being learning as a child is semi right, although there
were other race as slaves but the majority of them were black.
Louisiana Slaves 6
Description
How most of the skills that the slaves obtain are missing. Some of the things that
the slaves were doing were agriculture, crafts, industry, and fishing. The majority of the
skills are missing but most of the slaves were doing agriculture work and also domestic.
Interpretation
Of course, most of the slaves would be doing agriculture. That is consisting of picking
cotton and also planting it. I guess that the crafts jobs were left for the women and
children to do while the men skills were agriculture. I also think that the men did the
domestic work.
Louisiana Slave 7
All the information came from the Louisiana Database. In this project, I learned a
lot. I really learned a whole of things that I didn’t know about slaves and what was their
purpose in life and also about their background. I knew that they didn’t discriminate on
what type of people they use, own, and beat. There were a few females and a lot of males
present in the Louisiana Database. At the same time, there were different kinds of slaves
Although the majority of slaves were black, it makes me feel a lot better to know
that it was some white slaves and also some India slaves. I know it wasn’t right for
people to be capture and held hostage, slave owners taught them a lot at the same time.
Slaves were able to plant, create, cook, and other things. They were taught a lot at the
