he Bank – Mexican Restaurant & Bar was “a dream come true” for Craig Puma, President
of CNC Puma Corporation. Starting out in the finance business for 3 years back in mid
80’s, Craig learned a lot about numbers and the handling of money, but it was being in
sales for 20+ years that taught him the simple philosophy of The Bank… “Work hard to give every
customer the best experience possible, every time! I’d never even worked in a restaurant before”,
Craig remarked. “But I’ve eaten out a lot and I know what people want: Tasty food, great service and
a comfortable and fun atmosphere. And that’s the 3 areas we focus on every day for every customer”.
Funny enough, the “dream” was born from a bad economy and lay-offs. On September 10, 2001,
Craig was laid off from a job due to the company going through some major cut-backs and as a
newer sales manager, he was one of the first selected. “When “9/11” hit the next day, no one was
hiring.” So rather than collect unemployment, Puma started his own company selling shutters and
blinds. “It was my first business and it was a raving success, but it was never anything I was really
into. It just paid the bills.” After 2 years, Puma walked away from that company and went back to
work in corporate sales. Over the next 3 years he would go through 2 more lay-offs due to corporate
Craig Puma restructuring. In 2006 he decided enough was enough. Having his own business was the path he
would take. And while sitting in a car wash, reading “Homes and Land” magazine, he saw the ad for
a little Mexican restaurant for sale in the center of Old Town Temecula.
The owners had left the restaurant in the hands of their two children. Both had said they were a
bit worn out from the restaurant industry. They had been either helping mom and dad or running
the restaurant for 29 years. And they were only in their mid 30’s”. Thinking the idea was a little too
crazy, coupled with the fact it was looking like it could be possible to make it happened, Puma was as scared as could be. But, the
daughter of the owner, Sandra Covarrubias, offered to stay for a year and one of the servers, Blanca Nguyen was an inspirational friend
who offered to help. Raul Romero, who had worked at The Bank for years previous, would head the kitchen. Puma talked his wife into
jumping on board and moving forward with the idea. “I worked another job for 3 years while running the restaurant, relying heavily
on my wonderful wife to be the top operational person at The Bank”. The plan has worked out perfectly. Being one of the best moves of
his life, the Puma’s have now opened their second restaurant, The Tilted Cactus, in Anza, Ca. Sandra is the Manager and Raul is head
chef. The Grand Opening is set for April 22-24.

for the various needs of their clients, Big Fogg designs, engineers, manufactures and installs a wide
range of its products. These products include misting fans, misting tents, misting trailers, inflatable
misters, high pressure restaurant & resort misting systems and heating benches.
In addition to college football and the NFL, Big Fogg’s list of prestigious clients also includes MLB,
the Olympics, the World Cup, NHL, the PGA and Motor Sports. Christopher said “Big Fogg
has been selected to provide climate control equipment for the athletes and performers at many
esteemed events. They include the sidelines of 10 Super Bowl games, 12 Pro Bowl games in Hawaii,
the World Cup Championship game between Brazil & Italy and behind the stage at Woodstock 99.
I take pride in knowing our equipment made these events more comfortable for the participants.” Christopher
However, the achievement that Christopher is most proud is his building Big Fogg by himself Miehl
from the ground up with no outside capital or partners. Out of his one-bedroom apartment in San
Clemente, he started BigFogg.com in 1999. Big Fogg was initially a website company that serviced
Christopher’s contacts in NCAA football and the NFL. Big Fogg is headquartered in Temecula,
CA with offices in Jacksonville, FL and soon in Austin, Texas. In 2010, Big Fogg was honored to be
awarded Business of the Year by both Temecula and Murrieta.
It has been a long and enjoyable journey for Christopher since receiving his MBA from San Diego State in 1985. He feels lucky and
proud to be a member of the community. He is also happy to be doing work that he truly loves. But then again, Christopher does
not consider it work, because he is having so much fun. He takes so much pleasure from the career that he invented that he has no
intention of ever retiring.

ophthalmologist named Robert N. Dunphy. “He became my lifelong mentor,” Dr. LoBue
says. “I wanted to be an ophthalmologist ever since I was 9 years old.” With such an eye for
the future, it’s no wonder LoBue Laser & Eye Medical Centers celebrates over 20 years of experience
in the Temecula Valley. Aside from his medical expertise and forward-thinking innovation, a
distinctive part of Dr. LoBue’s success is the warmth and compassion each patient receives from
him and his board-certified staff. “My inspiration is restoring vision back to my patients,” Dr. LoBue
says. “Modern cataract surgery is a medical miracle with many people experiencing dramatic visual
improvement the day after surgery. Newer technology has helped this surgery to become a relatively
fast, simple, and painless procedure. Dr. LoBue specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and
cataract surgery, offering premier lens implants.
Dr. LoBue has always been interested in finding ways to improve the quality of life for his patients.

ark Anselmo has been a resident of Temecula for over 18 years and has marveled at
the amazing growth of the community - not only in numbers, but also in character
and service. He has a wonderful wife, Kathy, and two incredible sons, Anthony and
Nicholas. Mark is a Financial Advisor by trade, but was called to the non-profit world after his
son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with Autism seven years ago. He and his wife formed Our Nicholas
Foundation initially to help fund the needs of special education teachers and therapists to
purchase the tools necessary to help those diagnosed with autism. After having five “Auction for
Autism” events and multiple other fundraisers including golf tournaments, their services and
goals have now expanded. The Foundation now organizes educational forums, social groups
for both children and parents, peer buddies within the schools, sports programs (i.e. “Kick with
Nick” soccer program) and more. Their support group network now exceeds 125 families in the
Temecula Valley that meet for play dates and social activities as well. They feel this is just the
tip of the iceberg since there are over 800 families dealing with the diagnosis of autism in the
Temecula and Murrieta areas alone and now 1 in 91 children are being diagnosed. ONF is 100%
volunteer-run and Mark says he cannot thank their dedicated Board, the ONF families and the Mark Anselmo
business community enough for their continued support. ONF was honored with the Temecula
Chamber’s 2010 Service Charitable Organization of the Year and Mark was also honored in 2008
as Temecula’s Citizen of the Year. Autism Speaks has also honored ONF with the Local Heroes
Award. For more information, visit their website at www.OurNicholasFoundation.org.

and specializes in corporate retirement planning and commercial insurance needs in addition to
providing individual client asset management. He takes great pride in owning an independent
financial advisory firm that is not tied to any one investment or insurance company. This allows
him to provide truly unbiased advice in all circumstances, but at the same time he has access to all
available resources for clients.

he date is December, 1996. A young Adam Bouvet is the first full-time employee of
the Mill restaurant in historic Old Town Murrieta, washing dishes and learning the
food service industry. Flash forward to 2011, and Adam is now part owner, alongside
founder Linda Westfall. In speaking with Adam, his love for this local landmark is evident. Also
clear is his dedication to and appreciation of his employees. With over 30 people working at the
restaurant, Adam could certainly spend all day commending each and every one of them - as a
matter of fact, he says that his entire staff is an extended family to each other. They work hard
and treat the business as their own, which gives Adam peace of mind when he is away that
the employees care as much about the Mill as he does. With the restaurant and his Real Estate
business, Adam stays hopping, and he’s not always able to be present at the Mill. He wants
to publicly acknowledge his kitchen staff for the great work they do. John Strange - with the
Mill for 10 years, who powers through the busy breakfast traffic every weekend and has not
missed a breakfast shift in over three years. Matt, Tony, Glenn, Brandon and Michael ... these
guys keep things running backstage, and Adam wishes to express his most sincere appreciation
to them, the behind-the-scenes dynamos that create the delicious meals that one anticipates
when visiting the Mill. Most of the Mill’s employees are referrals, family members, or long-term
customers - Adam doesn’t have to look for people to work there - they come to him. He says that
Adam Bouvet his amazing team gives the term “Family Restaurant” a whole new meaning. Adam especially
appreciates the fact that his employees all want to be at work - they enjoy their jobs and the
people they work with, evidenced by team “road trips” to various sporting events during the
year. This is also apparent to the customer - front-line employees are always smiling, helpful and
tend to remember your “usual.” The Mill is truly a gem in Murrieta, the city called “The Gem
of the Valley.”

ill Flegenheimer and Marco Flores are no strangers to the Real
Estate and property management fields. The two met while working
for a “big box” Real Estate firm in early 2010, and found they worked
well together and that both had a passion for not just their industry, but also
doing things the right way. They describe themselves as “two genuine guys
looking to work honestly and take care of their clients with integrity and
honor.” Making their clients’ interests their number one priority sets these
gentlemen apart in an industry that has taken a beating in the last several
years. Harveston Property Management offers a multitude of services,
including listing properties, managing them and tenant placement. As
they are both Real Estate agents, they can also assist investors with locating
rental properties and then manage them for the investor. Bill and Marco can Bill Flegenheimer

sale expert, and Bill is HAFA (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives)
certified. The company focuses most on the Harveston community in
Temecula, but is capable of working with properties in any location.
Currently hanging their licenses with an independent agency in Murrieta,
they find themselves less restricted then when they were with the chain
agency, and able to work more within their ideals of “Customer First.”
Knowledgeable, motivated and “real,” this duo intends to change the face of

than just banking and loan services at CBTV, our goal is to be
your most trusted business advisor. Each of our loan officers is trained
to take a consultative approach when considering your financing needs.
Whether it is an equipment loan, line of credit to meet cash flow needs or
a commercial real estate loan, we want to structure the credit to provide

as well as assisting you in finding the accounting and tax professionals

Our “attitude” is that our Bank will only do as well as the businesses in The Temecula Valley. During these unprecedented and
troubled economic times, we feel that we must make an extra effort to look beyond our bank products and services and dedicate
our time and skills as banking professionals by working with our customers, potential customers, and those with specific needs.
By building quality relationships with our customers, we are able to optimize the return on investment for our shareholders,
provide growth opportunities for our employees and be recognized as a premier contributor to the economic, social growth and

on marketing. It all began when he was looking for temporary work. “I walked into an AppleOne
office in 1993,” says Paul, “needing temp work while I was home for the summer.” Over 15
years later, Paul finished 2010 ranked #13 out of over 1800 employees nationwide in sales. He
attributes his success to the management style and culture of the organization. “AppleOne gives
its employees the tools they need to be successful,” says Paul. And successful he is. Some of the
largest employers in the Valley look to Paul and to AppleOne for their staffing needs, including
Pechanga, Professional Hospital Supply and International Rectifier, just to name a few. Paul was
the 2010 Chair for the local PIHRA (Professionals in Human Resources Association), and is
acting as Membership Chair in 2011. He also is looking forward to getting more involved in the

service design, marketing and advertising firm specializing in company branding, print
and web design, as well as marketing and public relations.
Early in life, Justin remembers being told by a high school art teacher to find a career in
art, because she knew Justin would not be happy doing anything else. After working his way
in retail to a rather high-paying position at an early age, Justin realized she was absolutely
right. It was at that point Justin decided to go back to school to pursue his dream. Justin won
his first national graphic design award only one year out of college. Since then, Justin has
been on the fast track for success winning more than sixteen awards, both nationally and
internationally, for his design work spanning over his eleven year career. Justin and his team
have made a name for themselves in the advertising world, winning multiple national design
awards against such powerhouses like Coca-Cola and Tiffany & Co. Justin has also worked
with several local organizations throughout the years including the Temecula Valley Chamber
of Commerce and Temecula Valley Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.
Since starting The Creative Bar three years ago, Justin has firmly established himself as a
highly qualified and skilled brander and designer for clients like the City of Temecula, Monte
Justin Lawler de Oro Winery and the Temecula YMCA. Justin prides his company on being top-notch and
unlike any other agency out there. Working closely with their clients throughout the entire
process, The Creative Bar ensures that the marketing campaign is as effective as possible with
eye-catching and relevant graphics, strategic company branding, and they work to create
websites that are complementary to the business while representing and appealing to its target
audience. A one-stop-shop, Justin and The Creative Bar can do it all, and they are very good
at it. Justin is also very involved within the community, supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of
Southwest County, the Temecula Special Games, and the Heart Association Walk.

not your typical buttoned-up attorney. An avid martial artist for over 30 years, Brad’s
main business focus is on the relationships he develops with his clients. After receiving
his Juris Doctorate degree from Whittier College School of Law in 1994, Brad took a position
as Director of HR and Legal Affairs with a large international security company, but quickly
found he wanted to practice “real” law. In 1995, he started practicing law full time and built
a successful firm in LA, but felt he had lost touch with the attorney-client relationship. So, he
moved to Temecula in 2003, intent on creating a practice that keeps things small and simple,
enabling him to interact directly with his clients. A “regular guy,” Brad is much happier with this
arrangement, and the fact that it works shows with his busy caseload. His focus in his practice
is business, family and personal injury law. Brad was also one of the pioneering attorneys in
mold litigation in the late 1990’s. Beside law, Brad’s passion is in martial arts. Currently, Brad
holds the position of Chief Inspector for the official sanctioning body of the State of California

Santa Rosa Plateau is a great way to experience a still untouched
part of California. There is a bounty of wildlife, oak trees that are
hundreds of years old, some of the largest remaining vernal pools
in the state, and several not-too-strenuous trails throughout the
site. Also on the reserve is a bit of human history; two adobe
