At LaineGabriel we believe that it only takes one person to make a big difference
in the lives of many. That is why LaineGabriel is happy to return the good fortune
through our new program, The Tenfold Initiative. The Tenfold Initiative Scholarship is
available to a high school senior (graduating before July 1, 2011) who is located in
the Central Ohio region. Students must be enrolled or accepted at a university,
college or art school as a declared major in a visual arts program for the 2011
school year. The scholarship submission consists of a completed application form
(attached), six artwork samples (personal selection), high school transcripts, a 500
word essay, and two letters of recommendation. Note: The application form
consists of 4 pages total.

LAINEGABRIEL ART SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

[ 1.0 ] SAMPLES: The samples should include 6 images of your artwork, furnished on 11x17
printouts (bound books and mounting are optional). DO NOT submit originals, as they will
not be accepted. All artwork should include the artist’s name, high school’s name, title of
artwork, media, dimensions, and year completed. Artwork may include drawings, paintings,
printmaking, graphic design, interior design, or 3D art.

[ 1.1 ] By submitting these samples of work, you are granting LaineGabriel the right to use and
publish these submissions for the support of The Tenfold Initiative scholarship program. The
10 finalists selected for the 2011 Tenfold Scholarship will have his or hers’ artwork proudly
displayed during Gallery Hop in The Short North Arts District. All samples must be your work
and not involve any help from additional parties. Your artwork will not be copied or sold by
LaineGabriel during or following the scholarship process. Your signature at the completion of
the applying process signifies your understanding and approval of these terms. Incomplete
packets will not be accepted for consideration. No payment or further deliberation will be an
option.

[ 2.0 ] ESSAY: The essay should consist of 500 words or less and clearly state why you are the
most deserving candidate for The 2011 Tenfold Initiative Scholarship. Special consideration
will be given to those students demonstrating a financial need through their essay. Please
include what attracted you to The Tenfold Initiative Scholarship, what art means to you, your
future plans to give back to the art community, and your personal goals for incorporating art
into your future academic and career plans. Please type your essay, double-spaced and in
black ink.
[ 3.0 ] REFERRALS: Please include two letters of recommendation, including one teacher from
your high school career; preferably an art teacher. The teacher should be familiar with your
work, goals and work ethic. Please do not submit letters of recommendation from personal
friends or family. In addition, please include your referrals contact information (Name, phone
number and/or email) in the event we contact them for further information.

[ 4.0 ] DEADLINE:
Applications should be submitted with six samples, transcripts, essay, and two letters of
recommendation by Friday, May 13, 2011 to LaineGabriel c/o The Tenfold Initiative
Scholarship, 27 East Russell Street, Suite 300, Columbus, OH 43215. Please be sure to send all
materials together in one package and clearly state your name on each piece. Questions,
concerns or comments may be sent via email to SARAH@LAINEGABRIEL.COM. Items may not
be received by email. All applicants will be notified by July 1, 2011 if they have been chosen as
a finalist. The final award will be presented on August 6, 2011.

[ 5.0 ] SELECTION: Selection will be determined by quality of all samples and information
included, and an implied need emphasis will be on the six samples and essay.

[ 6.0 ] SCHOLARSHIP: One (1) $1,500 non-renewable scholarship will be awarded to the top
candidate to be used towards tuition required by the educational institution for the upcoming
2011-2012 academic school year. LaineGabriel will directly notify the recipient and award the
scholarship directly to the Bursar/Financial Office of the student’s chosen college for the 2011-
2012 academic school year. In addition to the $1,500 scholarship, the selected candidate’s
referring high school art teacher will be awarded one (1) $150 gift card to Utrecht Art Supply
for his or hers’ classroom or personal use.
