200 Million Tourists for Egypt

Egypt is now free..., this why young people from the 25th January revolution are inviting people
from all around the world to visit Egypt. We have liberated Egypt from dictatorship and now we are
creating its new history, and this is not unusual to the people of Egypt as we have been making
history for 7 thousand years, this is why we decided to invite everyone to visit Egypt under the
slogan (200 Million Tourists for Egypt)

Information about the numbers of tourists in Egypt :


Egypt is considered to be one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. In 2007, a
number of 9.97 million tourist visited Egypt and it took the 58th place among 124 countries, and
now in 2011 and after the 25th january revolution , we aim at the first place so we set our target as
200 million tourists.

Why 200 million tourists ?


You have every right to ask yourself, why 200 million tourist , and the answer is that our revolution
was not only a revolution against dictatorship , but it was also to revive the Egyptian personality
after long years of subordination, and now we want people of the world to learn about the change in
Egyptian personality.
For many years, Egyptians have been used to the presence of tourists among them and they have
aquired the experience of how to deal with them, as the tourist attractions are available all over the
country. Wherever you go in Egypt, you will find many tourist attractions and facilities from
temples, monuments, shores, five star hotels, resorts, travel agencies and airlines.
Tourists would like to visit many cities in Egypt, like Cairo (the capital), Alexandria, Red Sea,
Luxor, Aswan, Hurgada and Sinai, especially Southern Sinai in Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab and
Nuwiba, where there sports like diving which attracts tourists from all over the world to see the rare
coral reefs and fishes which many festivals are being held for, and fishing competitions which both
egyptians and foeigners participate in. For all that we can see that a number of 200 million tourists
are not that big for such a great country.

Tourism in Egypt :
God has given Egypt various tourist attractions and potentials that are not to be found combined in
any other country, and the following is an example of the most famous tourist attractions in Egypt:

Cairo :

● The Egyptian Museum (which is located in Tahrir Square, the cradle of the revolution)

●Saquara Pyramid in Badrashin
●Khan El Khalili and The Old Cairo

Alexandria :

Sinai and the Red Sea :


Many tourists from all over the world come to enjoy the nature of Sinai where mountains hug the
sea in a beautiful scenery. And Bedouin villages are available to be visited during safari trips.
Sinai and the Red sea have many resorts and touristic cities like Sharm El Sheikh, Hurgada, El
Gouna, Dahab, Ras Sedr, Nuwiba, Taba and Marsa Alam. There is also Saint Catherine Monastery.

Religious Tourism :
There are many religious tourism attractions in Egypt, whether Jewish, Christian or Islamic.
Islamic :
Imam Hussain Mosque (grand son of prophet Muhammed) where there is a tomb that contains his
head, El Azhar Mosque, Ibn Toloun Mosque and Mohammed Ali Mosque.
Christian :
Saint Sergius Church (where the holy family rested while the were in Egypt), Saint Catherine
Monastery, The Hanging Church (al muallaqa), The Monastery of Saint Anthony the Great (founder
of monasticism), and many more historic churches.
Jewish :
Mount Sinai or Mount Musa (where Moses received the ten commandments), Ben Ezra Synagogue
in Old Cairo where there is a well that it is said that Moses used to hide in it in the time of Pharaon,
Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue in Nabi Daniel street in Alexandria, and also Mansha Synagogue in
Alexandria.

Medical Tourism :

In El Wadi El Gedid and the oases and some spots in Sinai, and that includes burial in hot sands and
water healing in natural spas like sulphur springs in Helwan, and at Moussa`s springs near Suez.
