The Acharya Habba is a regular festive feature of Acharya Institutes, a
conglomerate centre of higher education for students across the world.
Acharya Habba is an event that is eagerly awaited by the youth of the state.
Nearly 700 colleges participate in the festivity which sees around 50,000
students and the youth thronging into the campus on the days of the fest
starting from 5th April, 10AM. The intense exuberance will be witnessed
from 7th April till the 9th April with the incredible, maddening and the
enthralling celebrity performances apart from the events to be presented by
the students. Acharya Habba’s track record is the success when performance
exceeds ambition. “The Vision is the art of seeing the invisible”. The Vision
that you glorify in your mind and the ideal that you enthrone in your heart
will build your life and this you will become. The intension of Acharya Habba
is to translate your vision into reality. Come, be a part of the multi ethnic
family of Acharya Institutes to discover the meaning of your true existence.
Debate (English / Kannada / Hindi)
Each member will given 3 minutes to present his/her argument on the given topic.( 2+1)
The members will be allowed for the rebuttal of two minutes after the opponents’ argument.
Topics will be announced on the previous day of the competition.
Use of abusive language, controversial comments, personal remarks, shouting and unhealthy
verbal arguments will lead to disqualification of the team.
Registration will not be entertained after the commencement of the competition.
Participants are supposed to speak only during their turn.
It is mandatory for the teams to speak for and against the topic.

Collage Making
The topic for the collage will be informed on the spot.
The organizer shall provide KG Cardboard for all the teams.
The team can use newspapers, magazines or any other source other than the Internet extracts.
No cutting materials to be used.
The team will be judged on the basis of relevance with the topic, quality of the collage and the
presentation.

T-Shirt Painting
The theme for the T-Shirt painting will be announced a day prior to the competition on the website.
The team has to carry all the paints required for the competition.
The organizer will provide a T-Shirt for each of the teams to paint, which has to be submitted to the
organizer for evaluation.
There will be a presentation for 3 minutes after the painting session.
The team will be evaluated on the basis of relevance with the topic, quality of usage of colors,
Presentation etc.

Face Painting
The theme for the face painting will be announced a day prior to the competition on the website.
The team has to carry all the paints required for the competition.
A team member has to paint on his/her partner’s face.
The team will be evaluated on the basis of relevance with the topic, quality of usage of colors etc.
Creative Writing
There are 2 categories, prose and poetry, participants may take part in one or both.
Prose: Participants have to write a work of fiction based on a given theme in not more than 200 words.
Poetry: The participants will be given a number of related themes to link through a poem.
The creation of the participant will be judged on the basis of originality, creativity and relevance to the given
theme.

Unconventional Instrumental Music


Teams should register with a list of non –conventional instruments that are to be used.
No conventional instruments (acoustic/electronic) are permitted.
The organizer will provide no instruments.
Minimum of 4 unconventional instruments must be used.
No singing or use of recognizable words are allowed .
Humming, whistling, clapping, twitching of fingers is permitted. They will be considered as instruments of
music.

Rock Show (English/Hindi)


Bands with original music will be an added advantage.
Expression of obscenity and vulgarity in performance will not be appreciated and the organizers have the
right to stop the performance immediately.
The list and name of the participating members of each band should be submitted to registration committee.
Institution will provide only drums.
Bands must come with the electric power cords and other equipments required for rock show.

Dance Duet - Bollywood Rock


Elimination round:
• Participants are required to perform a 3-5 minute long prepared sequence.
• The dance sound tracks are to be submitted to the event manager at the time of the registration.
Final Round:
• The same 3-5 minutes long prepared dance sequence has to be performed by the selected participants
on the main stage.
Group Dance

Elimination Round:
A prepared sequence of about 4-6 minutes has to be performed
A minimum of 6 dancers must be present on stage at all times of the performance.
Usage of props is allowed.
Usage of props should be consulted with the event manager before confirmation.
Sound track of the group’s performance should be brought along in a CD only.
Final Round:
The same prepared sequence is performed in front of a large audience on the main stage.
A prepared sequences of about 7-9 minutes has to be performed.
A minimum of 6 dancers must be present on stage at all times of the performance.

Rendezvous
Every participant has to select a personality provided on the list at webpage and duly fill the application
form and confirm the personality.
There are two rounds:
 First Round: The participant has to present a monologue and mimic for 1 minute on stage.
 Second Round: The rapid fire round where participant will be asked questions about the
personavlity. (Questions will be asked in English)
 Dressing up as personality would attract more points.
The participants are requested to get their facts right regarding the personality. Not doing so may lead to
deduction of points.
Street Play
The play should contain a social message.
No musical instrument utilizing electric power is allowed. Any other musical instruments (including
unconventional ones like plates, spoons, etc.) are allowed and will be considered as a prop.
No pre-recorded music or voices are allowed.
A maximum of 15 different kinds of props can be used.
Prop: Any item or object used apart from the costume would be considered as prop. If a book is a prop
then a collection of books would also be considered as one single prop.
Use of costumes of different kind, apart from the general costume of the participants, shall also be
considered as props. Each different kind of costume shall be considered as a prop. However, variety in
colors of the same kind of costume is not considered as an additional prop.
Profanity, obscenity, racism of the slightest nature will not be entertained. (Such inclusions will disqualify
the teams)
Language used can be English, Kannada or Hindi only.
No Usage of fire during the course of the play.

Fashion Show
Emphasis will be given to clothing, walk, portrayal of theme and originality.
All participants do not have to be on stage at the same time.
Backstage helpers should not exceed 5, two of whom must be present to provide cues for music and light.
Use of water, fire and any kind of fireworks (party poppers included) in any form on stage will result in
disqualification. Points will be deducted for any display of vulgarity or dance movements on stage.
Exceeding the time-limit will lead to penalty of 5% of the total marks scored.

THEMES:
The Teams can present the ‘theme’ of their choice. The designs must convey the theme selected. The theme
must be informed to the organizers while registering.

Mad Ads
Teams may advertise any product with subject to humor strictly.
Profanity, obscenity, racism of the slightest nature will not be entertained. (such inclusions will disqualify
the teams)
Props and costumes are allowed.
Any form of background music or scores skill shall up to the speaker’s vocal skills.
Paper Presentation
Rules:
Maximum of 3 members per team. Any number of teams can participate from each college.
Authors of shortlisted papers will be intimated. Every author must be a registered DELEGATE.
Time given – 10 + 02 + 02 ( Presentation + Conclusion + Q/A )
Warning bell at the end of 10th , 12th, Long bell after 14th Minute
PPT’s must be loaded in advance at the respective venue.
Time management is important. Author can collect the presentation certificate at the end.

Paper Format
A4 Size not more than 8 pages, 1 inch margin on all sides IEEE format MS-Word (Word 2003) document
Single line spaced, single column, Font: Times New Roman
Title-Font size 14 bold, Head-Font size 12 bold, Contents – Font size 11
Note:
One set hard copy and a soft copy should be submitted to coordinators.
A separate file containing ABSTRACT (300 words) with Title, Authors name, communication address, Phone
& Email ID.

Web Designing
Maximum of 2 members per team. Any number of teams can participate from each college.
Only basic html is allowed. Theme will be given on the spot. Internet connectivity is provided.

On Spot Programming C/C++


Maximum of 2 members per team.
Any number of teams can participate from each college.
In case the number of entries is more, a written elimination test will be conducted and one person from each
team can appear for the same.
Top 20 selected teams will participate in the finals where they will be given a problem, based on which they
need to enter the program and execute the same.
Group Song
The song must have English, Hindi or Kannada lyrics only.
The participants should compulsorily carry the karaoke tracks and musical instruments (if required).
The team has to submit their karaoke to the organizer 10 min before the commencement of the competition.
The decision of the judges is final.

The Sportainment Quiz


Elimination Round:
A preliminary round will be conducted to select the top 6 teams for the Final Round.
It will be based on the theme of Sports and Entertainment.
In case of a tie, internal tiebreakers will be used to break the tie between teams.
Final Round:
The finals will consist of numerous rounds that will be revealed on the spot by the quizmaster.
Quizmaster’s decision is final.
Computer Gaming
Counter strike (Rs. 100/team)
Maximum 5 members in a team.
Any number of teams from each college
Team members need to bring their own accessories, if required.(Joy stick is not allowed)
NFS Most Wanted (Rs. 50/ Re-entry: Rs 100)
• Single player.
• Any number of teams from each college.
• Player need to bring his/her own accessories, if required.(Joy stick is not allowed)

Mr. & Ms. Habba


Candidates should submit their application forms preferably with a passport-size photograph within a week
of his/her registration.
Candidates shortlisted for a second round of screening will be subjected to a round of Personal interviews,
following which selected candidates will proceed to the final auditorium round.
The finale will consist of a number of challenges.
Contestants will be evaluated based on their personality, talent, appeal, wit, humor and presence of mind,
tested during the various rounds.
Rounds will be of the likes of ramp walk, question-answer, group interactions, tasks and some other surprise
elements.
The two most enigmatic individuals would gain the coveted titles of Mr. and Ms. Habba.
