LeBLANC Communications (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (LCM) is pleased to submit this “Tower Structural Analysis Report” to determine the structural integrity of the aforementioned tower. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the suitability of the tower and foundation under the proposed swap of existing loading and new additional loading condition. The existing loading has been determined by a physical site visit and the proposed loading was provided by DIGI. All loading considered in this analysis are as shown in Table 3.2 of this report. This analysis has been performed in accordance with the requirements of BS8100: Part 1: 1986, “Code of Practice for Loading - Lattice Towers and Masts” based on a 3-second gust wind speed of 120km/hr.

Based on our analysis, we have determined that the tower IS NOT CAPABLE of supporting the existing and proposed loading, with a maximum utilization members capacity of more than 100%.

It is recommended that the remedial action suggested in the inspection report be carried out to bring this tower into industry standard condition.

All proposed equipment/loadings, if any, shall be installed in accordance with the instructions included in this report. Any deviation in the size and location of any equipment/loadings to be installed, as noted in this report, shall be reported back to LCM for review.

We at LCM appreciate the opportunity of providing our continuing professional services to you at DIGI. If you have any questions or need further assistance on this matter or any other projects, please feel free to contact us at your convenience.

2.0 INTRODUCTION

At the request of DIGI, LeBLANC Communications (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (LCM) has carried out the following structural analysis for the 45m square self support tower referenced in this report. The general scope of this report includes, but is not limited to, a description of the existing tower, condition of the tower, location and size of all existing antennas and associated transmission lines and the analysis of this structure under the loading conditions and standards as prescribed by the client. The tower inspection was done by Dancom on 14 th June 2010 and handed over to LCM for analysis purposes.

The intent of the inspection and analysis is to determine the existing and proposed condition of the structure, the capability of the structure to support its existing loading and to determine the capacity to support proposed and/or future loading.

This analysis has been performed in accordance with the requirements of BS8100: Part 1: 1986, “Code of Practice for Loading - Lattice Towers and Masts”, based on a 3-second gust wind speed of 120km/hr.

4.0 INSPECTION RESULTS

Based on the results provided by Dancom based on tower inspection on June 14, 2010 performed by them, it has been determined that this structure requires maximum maintenance to bring it up to industry standard condition. In general, the findings of their inspection indicate that the tower and associated equipment requires routine maintenance to control corrosion and secure structural connections and equipment fasteners. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the badly corroded bolts to a new one to maintain its connection strength for future years.

5.0 LOAD CONDITIONS

At the request of the client, this analysis report considers the tower in its existing condition with its existing compliment of antennas, lines and appurtenances, as well as the proposed equipment as prescribed by DIGI. The tower has been analysed under the following climatic conditions and design standards as per the client’s request:

7.0 FOUNDATION ANALYSIS

Based on the site visit inspection foundation sketch drawing and soil investigation report, we have performed an assessment on the foundation stability due to the existing loading plus tower condition. The geometry of the foundation was measured on site, after excavation works. There are 4 isolated footing, square pad of 3.60m x 3.60m x 0.6m and small square pier of 0.70m x 0.70m x

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Some leg members has to be strengthen to increase its capacity by adding new face redundant size L50x50x5 and connected with 1-M16 bolt at each end.

2. Existing foundation need to be strengthened by enlarging the pad.

3. It is recommended to replace all the badly corroded bolts to a new one to maintain its connection strength for future years.

4. For the foundation connection, the holding down bolts are not visible due to possible concrete covering. However the leg connection with the foundation requires scrapping and painting to prevent rusting and / or deterioration in quality.

5. It is also recommended that the remedial action suggested in the inspection report be carried out to bring this tower into industry standard condition.

9.0

CONCLUSIONS

1. The results of the tower analysis indicate that the structure IS NOT CAPABLE of supporting the existing and proposed loadings based on ultimate wind loading. Therefore, we have made a recommendation that the tower will have an adequate strength after carry out the proposed strengthening on the overstress members. The new stress level after strengthening work as stated in the Table 6.3.1 in the Post column, is acceptable because the proposed antenna was considered at the maximum height.

2. The foundation IS NOT CAPABLE to support the existing and proposed loading conditions of the tower based on the service condition of the wind loading by considering the partial safety factor for wind load, = 1.0. Therefore, the recommended foundation strengthening will increase the foundation capacity.

3. However, the tower deflection is adequate to sustain the existing and proposed loadings criteria based on the service condition of the wind loading by considering the partial safety factor for wind load, = 1.0.

considering the partial safety factor for wind load, = 1.0. 4. LeBLANC Communications (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
considering the partial safety factor for wind load, = 1.0. 4. LeBLANC Communications (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

4. LeBLANC Communications (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (LCM) engineers would like to point out that any rearrangement of antenna location that has been considered in this analysis might cause overstressing situation to existing tower members. Comments and checks provided in this report are valid for antenna types and locations as indicated in this report only.

5. The Aviation Lights are not functioning.

6. Lightning Arrestor is considered in good condition.
