2ND PROJECT MEETING IN 8 DIMOTIKO SCHOLEIO

23/2/2011. It was a very
successful meeting with a lot
of events and happenings.

In 4th grade we have worked with

how can it be cleaned? We bor-
rowed a small ”town” made by the
company ”Grundfoss”, where we

2. Green Charter (January 2011)

Some rules about environmetal-
friendly behaviour were written
down in a "green charter", in
consultation with our students.
This charter is written in rhyme,
as a poem, and therefore difficult
to translate literally.
Content of the charter:
-Save energy, so put out that
light !
-And please, close the door behind
your back
-Drink healthy tap water
-And use your bicycle ! Don’t take
the car.
-Don’t bring plastic litter to
school, use a biscuit tin (bread
box)
-Sort out litter in the proper way,

-Plastic, metal and drinking bricks

-Put them in the blue box
-Waste of vegetables, fruits and
garden belong in the green box

22 March 2011: Tap Water Day

Drink tap water and reduce litter.
By stimulating the drinking of tap water, we try to reduce the transportation of water which includes less
trains, trucks, refrigerators … which means less CO2 in the air.
We also try to avoid litter by reducing the amount of plastic bottles and tetra bricks.
Our school has the ambition to become a ‘tap water only’- area as soon as possible.
All our students receive a bottle (sponsored by the company of Tap Water) which they bring to school every
day, filled with tap water.

Siamo di ritorno da una magnifica doppia visita in Grecia e Cipro. Abbiamo fatto lezione
di riciclaggio, costruendo oggetti con bottiglie di plastica usate. Abbiamo anche
chattato con una nostra classe in Italia! E poi abbiamo partecipato a cerimonie, giochi e
danze popolari con i ragazzi delle scuole partner di Atene e di Aradippou.
Adesso i nostri alunni di seconda stanno lavorando ad un modulo CLIL (Content and
Language Integrated Learning) che li porterà a scoprire i “biomi”, con i relativi esempi
di vita. Alla fine creeranno un cruciverba in inglese che manderanno poi agli amici delle
scuole partner.

waste, river, sea, ocean,
lake, waterfall, stream,
fish, coral reef). We also
announced a competition
