In
this
session
we
will
provide
an
in
depth
look
at
the
MEDITECH
and
LSS
integrated
Medical
and
Practice
Management
solution
for
physician
practices
and
how
it

assist

first

functionality

We

next
review

and
how
to
use
the

and
attest

Utilization
and

Justin
McMartin
is
a
Marketing
Coordinator
at
LSS,
focusing
on
industry
and
government
relations.
Since
2009,
Justin
has
worked
on
understanding
how
legislation
and
regulations
of
the
EHR
Incentive
Programs
through
Medicare
and
Medicaid
impact
LSS
customers
and
products.
Justin
participated
on
the
LSS
Certification
Team,
which
is
responsible
for
ensuring
certification
of
the
LSS
product
platforms.
He
serves
as
EHR
Vendor
alternate
to
the
Minnesota
e-‐Health
Committee
and
is
currently
the
Chair
of
the
Privacy
and
Security
Workgroup
within
the
HIMSS
EHR
Association.

This
session
will
feature
a
demonstration
of
the
clinically
relevant
software
components
for
physicians
in
MAGIC
5.6.4.
It
will
focus
on
enhancing
the
physician
workflow
by
streamlining
workload
with
the
Physician
Desktop
and
rounding
list.
The
session
will
also
cover:
reviewing
patient
data
within
the
chart
utilizing
special
panels
&
the
problem
list,
managing
patient
care
with
physician
documentation,
and
enhancing
patient
safety
utilizing
evidence-‐based
ordering
(CPOE),
clinical
decision
support,
and
the
discharge
process.
As
an
undergraduate
at
the
University
of
Massachusetts
at
Amherst,
Leo
Cook
completed
a
Bachelor
of
Arts
program
in
Legal
Studies.
After
graduation
he
began
work
at
Umass
Memorial
Hospital
in
Worcester,
Massachusetts,
in
the
patient
access
department.
It
was
there
that
he
became
interested
in
the
software
that
was
being
used
by
the
admitting
office
and
the
emergency
room,
and
soon
found
himself
applying
to
work
at
MEDITECH
in
the
fall
of
2004.
Leo
started
at
MEDITECH
as
a
pharmacy
service
specialist,
and
quickly
became
a
strong
resource
for
his
group.
He
trained
hospitals
on
the
implementation
of
BMV,
MEDITECH's
bedside
medication
scanning
product,
and
took
every
opportunity
he
could
to
get
out
on
site,
traveling
to
hospitals
throughout
the
United
States
and
Canada
and
developing
an
understanding
for
the
workflow
and
operation
of
inpatient
pharmacies.
In
2007
Leo
joined
a
new
initiative
called
the
advanced
clinicals
group,
and
was
tasked
with
supporting
the
roll
out
and
optimization
of
MEDITECH's
advanced
clinical
products.
Over
the
last
three
years
Leo
has
been
involved
in
the
assessment,
planning,
roll-‐out,
and
support
of
physician
products
for
several
hospitals
and
hospital
networks
supported
by
MEDITECH's
client
services
division.
He
has
also
supported
the
marketing
division
in
similar
projects,
and
most
recently
has
done
extensive
work
developing
materials
to
support
hospitals
in
the
United
States
as
they
look
to
meet
Meaningful
Use
measures
and
qualify
for
funding
under
ARRA.

and
work

analysis.
This
solution
provides
caregivers
with
a
more
informed,
evidence-‐based
clinical
decision
support,
quality
outcomes
measurement,
and
an
intuitive
workflow
design.
She
is
also
an
advocate
for
the
use
of
information
technology
to
improve
the
safety,
quality,
and
efficiency
of
health
care.
Mrs.
Trumm
earned
a
Bachelor
of
Arts
in
Biology
from
Assumption
College
and
a
Masters
in
Management
from
Endicott
College.
Before
coming
to
MEDITECH,
she
worked
at
Doctors
Hospital
in
New
Boston,
Texas
as
an
Operating
Room
technician.
She
has
been
with
MEDITECH
for
over
15
years
and
is
respected
for
her
expertise
in
the
development
and
implementation
of
integrated,
multi-‐application
health
care
delivery
systems
for
both
inpatient
and
outpatient
settings.
Prior
to
her
role
in
client
services,
Mrs.
Trumm
served
as
manager
in
marketing
for
the
Advanced
Clinical
Applications.
