#1 Copy a simile from the story. After that, write 3 similes of your own for
characters or events in the story.
Copy a metaphor from the story. After that, write 3 metaphors of your own for
characters or events in the story.
Copy an example of onomatopoeia from the story. After that, write 3 examples
of onomatopoeia of your own for characters or events in the story.
Now put them all together in the form of a poem. You may want to add
more lines.
#3 Write a sequel. What happens next to Rainsford? Does he become the next
General Zaroff? Does he contact the authorities? Does he stop hunting for the rest of his
life? Your sequel must be at least a page and a half.
#4 Draw a detailed comic strip showing twelve scenes from the story. Include
captions.
#5 Expand on the last scene of the story, the duel between Rainsford and Zaroff.
Give a blow-by-blow account and include their words to each other as well as vivid, very
descriptive details.
