The four workshops are designed to build on
each other, but it is also possible to take them
individually – leaders have many demands on
their time and we want to offer both flexibility
and continuity.
Workshop leader
Anette Pollner is a
counselor at NCS.
She has a life time
of leadership experience working as a theatre
director, small business entrepreneur and team
member at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan in
London. In Bangkok she has led successful
workshops at NCS (‘Introduction to Dreams’
and ‘Update your Life Plan’), creative writing
workshops introducing her ‘superfocus’ tech-
nique at the Neilson Hayes Library, and fulfils a
leadership role in various local organizations
including the Bangkok Women’s Writers
Group, now in its tenth year.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Workshop 1 Vision ‘I have a dream’
– a vision is a dream that goes beyond your own self.
A vision is the ability to imagine a different
future, to question existing patterns and habits, to
look beyond other people’s fears and limitations and
into the heart of the matter.
This workshop will help you to crystallize your

# 2 Communication – leaders and their teams.
Now that we have crystallized the vision, we
n e e d t o c o mmu n i c a t e i t t o o t h e r s .
In this workshop, we will test out many differ-
ent and unusual ways of telling others about our vi-
sion, and listening to their feedback.
This workshop goes far beyond the usual for-

# 3 Obstacles and setbacks This is probably the
most difficult and most dreaded aspect of leadership.
Everyone can be a fair weather leader, but what to do
w h e n t i m e s g e t t o u g h ?
In this workshop, we will develop the skills to
learn from opposition and criticism, to find sources of
hope and encouragement, to distinguish between tem-
porary setbacks and course changers, and to re-

working Leadership never stands still.
Times and situations change and our vision

Leadership doesn’t mean that you have to be-
come more and more powerful at the expense of oth-
ers. But it does mean creating good alliances while
staying true to yourself.
Networking is probably one of the most over-
used and misunderstood concept for making alliances.
