The Little Baby Face Foundation provides free facial surgery for children born w

ith facial deformities, including microtia, atresia, cleft lip and palate, facia
l palsy, hemangioma and hemifacial microsomia. Physicians and facilities in New
York volunteer their time and provide corrective surgery and medical care to chi
ldren who are in financial need worldwide.
The Foundation offers travel to and from New York in addition to food, shelter a
nd medical supplies for the children undergoing surgical procedures. It also pro
vides information on medical facial deformities to families, healthcare provider
s and the public, and supports related research.
The Little Baby Face Foundation was founded in 2002, based on a new model of tre
atment to help children born with facial deformities. Rather than traveling to t
hird world countries for the treatment of a limited number of conditions, LBFF b
rings children suffering from all kinds of facial deformities to facilities in N
ew York where volunteers--physicians and surgeons in fourteen specialties--work
as a team to assess and ensure medical and surgical treatment, without any cost
to the families.
The Little Baby Face Foundation qualifies as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit by the Intern
al Revenue Service.

MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD
Under the direction and supervision of Dr. Thomas Romo the Foundation works with
a team of medical experts in the field of pediatric facial deformities and para
lysis. These experts â Little Baby Face Foundationâ s Medical Advisory Boardâ volunteer
f their time to evaluate and treat Little Baby Face Foundation children.
The team consults on each child and coordinates surgeries to minimize the invasi
veness and number of surgeries for patients and their families. When possible, m
ultiple procedures are completed in single surgeries to reduce the number of tim
es a child has to be hospitalized. Currently, the team is working on establishin
g protocols for this innovative approach that can be shared with other physician
s.
