We are a part of the octogenarian educational and philanthropic trust, Sarva Vidyalaya Kelvani
Mandal, Kadi.
Being inspired and encouraged by the very culture of our trust, we are proud and privileged to
announce a step further in our consistent endeavor for the all-round development of the undergraduate
students in the field of management, commerce and computers.
We are going to organize a mega academic-cum-cultural event, “Aaina 2009-

10”, during 4 h
and 5th of December, 2009 as we have been doing since last eight years with
immense response from all over Gujarat. The event has been designed to reflect the true potential
of the students in various areas.
The event schedule with the rules sheet is enclosed herewith. We invite you whole-heartedly to
cooperate enthusiastically by ensuring maximum participation from your college/institute for all the
events that we are organizing.
To excel the winning spirit of the winners & participants and converting their lukewarm desires into
burning passion for success, the award distribution has been scheduled on 5th December, 2009 in the
behold of Aaina’s Cross Roads from 6.00 pm onwards.
We kindly request you to put the event information on the college/institute’s notice board for
ensuring quality participation.

“Aaina 2009-10”
GENERAL RULES
1. All participants from all colleges have to register for the event(s) latest
by 10/12/2005 – 5.30 P.M.
2. Every participant has to pay Rs. 30/- as Registration Fee per event.
However, participants of Mock-GCET have to pay a fee of Rs.50/- and for
Mock-CAT Rs. 60/- per entry.
3. Every participant must carry a bonafide certificate/permission letter
duly certified by the head of the College/Institution/Dept. along with the I-Card
failing which he may be debarred from participation.
4. Participants have to report at least 1 hour before the scheduled time of
the event.
5. Judges’ decisions will be final and binding. Any dispute regarding any
event will be resolved by the Event In-charge of our college.
6. Prizes will be given to the best three participants in each event.
7. Any misconduct from any student of any participating college will be
strictly dealt with.
8. Prizes for all the events will be distributed on the final day i.e. 17/12/05.
9. Any clarification regarding the rules of any event has to be made
before the event starts --- no interference in-between will be allowed.
10. Participants are required to register for a single event at a particular
point in time to avoid clashing. Before registration, they must refer to the
event schedule carefully.
11. Any confusion regarding clashing at the time of event will not be
entertained by the host college at any cost.
12. Official declaration of the results will be made on 17-12-2005 in the
“Aaina – Cross Roads”.
13. Venue of the events will be: - The BPCBBA and BPCCA college
campus, Gh-6, Sector-23, Gandhinagar. Venue list containing venues for
individual events will be available from the reception counter on the day of
event.
Note: Participants considered for registration fee refer to the individual

member participants in a group.

EVENT 1(A): AAINA - Mock GCET
Rules:
1. Participants have to enter the examination hall 30 minutes before the scheduled
time.
2. The test will consist of multiple-choice questions only.
3. Registration fee per student is Rs.50/-.
4. This test is similar to GCET exam conducted by Gujarat University.
5. Maximum time allotted will be 2 hours.
6. The participants have to darken the circle with HB pencil.
7. Participants shall be allowed to carry along with them pencil, eraser, sharpener
and ball point pen.
8. Colleges may send any number of participants for this event from their side.
9. Participating college has to submit us a list of participants on its letter pad duly
signed by the concerned authority.
10. Mock-GCET is open for all SY and TY students.
11. First Three from SY and first Three from TY will be selected for prizes.
EVENT 1(B): AAINA - Mock CAT
Rules:
1. Participants have to enter the examination hall 30 minutes before the scheduled
time.
2. The test will consist of multiple-choice questions only.
3. Registration fee per student is Rs.60/ -
4. Exam pattern will be similar to that of CAT examination conducted for IIMs and
other reputed Management Institutes.
5. Maximum time allotted will be 2 hours.
6. The participants have to darken the circle with HB pencil. Participants shall be
allowed to carry along with them pencil, eraser, sharpener and ball point pen.
7. Colleges may send any number of participants for this event from their side.
8. Participating college has to submit us a list of participants on its letter pad duly
signed by the concerned authority.
9. Mock-CAT is open for all SY and TY students.
10. First Three from SY and first Three from TY will be selected for prizes.

EVENT 2: AAINA - Corporate Quiz

Rules:
1. Only B.B.A. students are eligible for this event.
2. A team of two students is invited from each college.
3. English will be the only language of communication during Quiz.
4. The elimination round will be conducted in case of huge participation.
5. After elimination round, three selected teams will enter into the Main Quiz.
6. Main Quiz has different rounds covering various topics on corporate and related
affairs.
7. The details of each round with its rules will be declared during the actual conduct
of the quiz.
8. The Quizmaster’s decision will be final and binding.
9. Besides the above, general rules of a normal quiz may be followed to the extent
possible and permissible.
EVENT 3: AAINA - Techno Quiz
Rules:
1. Four teams of three participants each are invited from every participating
college for the Techno Quiz event.
2. There will be three rounds of the quiz (i) General Round - about computer
fundamentals only (2) Specialize subject round and (3) Visual round.
3. Each round will contain 5 questions.
4. General rules of a normal quiz may be followed to the extent possible.
5. Any untoward situation arising during the quiz will be strictly dealt with by the
quiz master and the concerned event in-charge with full discression.
EVENT 4: AAINA - Debate (Voice Your Thoughts)

Topics:
• Are we, as youth today, one of the most misunderstood lots of
society?
• Should Bollywood be given an industry status?
• Are we sold to technology?

Rules:
1. Two participants are invited from each college to speak on any of the three
topics provided- one in Favour of and the other Against.
2. Students are required to be present well before the commencement of the
event on the scheduled day itself.
3. There are two rounds. The first round is a debate, the second round is a
question answer round.
4. The question answer round may have questions from anyone of the
above mentioned topics.
5. BOTH participants of all teams will be required to speak for maximum
time duration of 4 mins each.
6. A warning bell will be sounded at the end of the 3rd minute followed by the
final bell.
7. There will be negative marking for the participants crossing the maximum
time limit.
8. The participants can choose from English, Gujarati and Hindi as a medium of
presentation.
9. Snippets/quotes from Sanskrit will also be allowed.
10. No visual aids can be utilized. There will be negative marking if such are
used.
11. The participants are required to report half an hour before the scheduled time
of the event to check voice modality and complete registration formalities.
12. The order of participation of teams in the event will be decided on the day of
the event.
13. If only one of the two participants of a team appears on the final day, he/she
too will be given a chance to present the topic, but markings will be given
accordingly.
14. An attempt will be made by the college authorities to see to it that there is no
change in the already registered participants. Students are also required to
carry a proof of identity along with themselves.
15. Participants HAVE TO TAKE CARE, not to reveal their names or the
name of their educational institute during the presentation of the topic
or during the question answer round.

EVENT 5: AAINA – Mini Project Presentation

Areas for the project:
A. Interfacing
B. Database
C. Communication
D. Web-Based (E-Commerce)
Rules:
1. Candidates can select any one of the above areas for their mini project.
2. Complete definition of the project must be sent to the host college on or before
4th December 2005 which must include Hardware and Software requirements of
the selected project. (Send it in Word Document Format)
3. Confirmation of the project selection will be sent to candidates within three days
from the date of submission.
4. A softcopy of the project (in CD only) must reach the host college by 10th
December 2005, sent in the address mentioned in this brochure. The envelope
must contain the title of the event and project area for the participation.
5. All necessary equipments for the demonstration of the project have to be brought
by the participants themselves. However, only a PC will be provided by the host
college.
6. Participants must bring the softcopy of the project in a CD and a PPT of it for
presentation. A PC will be provided by the host college to the candidates.
7. There will be three rounds of this competition as below:
I. PPT Presentation of the project
II. Project Demonstration.
III. Query Round
EVENT 6: AAINA - Tadka Lagake & Salad Making
Rules:
For AAINA - Tadka Lagake
1. The team will be of three participants only

2. The participants have to bring all the required things along with themselves.
The host college will provide only space and water.
3. The duration for preparation will be 90 minutes.
4. The dish made must be cooked properly.
5. Participants would have to carry a printed/hand written copy of recipe during
the event.
6. Garnishing, layout and cleanliness will also be taken in to consideration for
marks.
For AAINA - Salad Making

1. This is an individual event.
2. The participants must bring all the required things along with them to
participate in this event. The host college will provide only space.
3. Time duration is of 30 minutes.
4. The item made can be boiled but not cooked
5. Marks for cleanliness will be given.
6. Participant would have to carry a printed copy of the recipe.
7. Garnishing and layout are compulsory.
EVENT 7: AAINA - Antakshari
Rules:
1. One team of two students to be invited from each college/Institute.
2. There would be various rounds along with the normal Antakshari.
3. All the general rules of a normal Antakshari are to be followed.
EVENT 8: AAINA - AD-FAD Show
Rules:
1. Each college may send a team of eight students
2. There are five rounds.
3. ROUND 1,2, 3 WILL HAVE TO BE BASED ON THE SAME PRODUCT
4. The product will be given to the institute/college on 13th of December
between 12 to 4 pm only.
5. The teams need to give a brand name and slogan to the product allotted
• Round 1 : Audio jingle round

 Maximum time : 60 seconds

 The team to go backstage and perform
 Use of supportive sound devices allowed
• Round 2: Audio visual – Skit round
 Maximum time allowed : 5 minutes
 The physical arrangements on stage as required (except the
mikes) will have to be managed by the teams themselves
 There will be a warning bell at the end of the fourth minute
• Round 3 : Print advertisement round
 The teams will have to submit a print advertisement on a A4
sheet only, before the event starts.
 The print ad will be strictly on the product given to the team
• Round 4 : Question answer round
 The judges will ask questions to the teams based on their
performances in round 1 2 and 3
• Round 5 : Quiz
 It is a 20 minute written quiz based on Indian Advertising
on a multiple choice question platform.
 For every wrong answer there is a negative marking of one
mark.
 Each team will have to nominate one participant for
appearing in the quiz on the day of event itself, after the
three rounds are complete.
 The venue of the written quiz will be announced on the day
of the event itself.
EVENT 9: AAINA - Solo Dance
Rules:
1. Only one participant is invited from each school.
2. Maximum 6 minutes to be allowed to each participant with a warning bell at
the end of the 5th minute followed by the final bell.
3. Any Group participant crossing the allotted duration of 6 minutes will be given
negative marking.
4. Participants have to bring their own audio cassettes & CD. If instruments,
they have to carry their own or manage themselves.

5. Cassette players & CD players will be provided by the organisers.

6. Cassettes should be perfectly rewinded / ordered. The time of the participant
would start from the time the music starts.
7. Dressing room facilities will be provided to the participants.
8. Lighting arrangement if any has to be managed by the participant only.
9. Remix, fusion, folk dance & classical dance are allowed.
EVENT 10: AAINA - Aaina Idol
Rules:
1. A team of two students is invited from each college.
2. Each team has to go through two rounds.
3. In the first round of the event the singer of the team will sing a song for 3
minutes.
4. The second round is a comedy round wherein the comedian will have to
perform a comedy of any kind for 2 minutes.
5. Winners will be selected on the basis of their performance in both rounds.
6. The decision of judge(s) will be final and binding.
EVENT 11: AAINA - Group Dance
Rules:
1. Only one team is invited from each college . Each team can consist of a
minimum of 8 and maximum of 20 participants.
2. There will be three rounds:
Round-1,
The team is to present one dance item of their choice based on Folk or
Classical or Devotional theme and perform it within a time duration of
maximum 5 mins, with a warning bell at the end of the 4th minute.
Round-2
The team will present a dance item based on a western dance theme
compulsorily utilizing a prop (like an umbrella, musical instrument,
broom, stick etc .)
Round-3

Questions will be asked by the judges, based on the two performances put
up by every team.
3. There will be negative marking for the teams crossing the maximum time limit.
4. The teams are required to report on stage on the day of the event at least 15
mins before the commencement of the event.
5. The order of participation of teams in the event will be decided on the day of
the event
6. The cassettes/CDs required should be brought, in a ready-to-be-played
format before the time of the performance.
7. Supporting lights may be provided on stage.
8. Green rooms shall be provided on request.
9. On the basis of prior special requests, if possible,the stage will be available
for practice sessions on the 13th and 14th of December.
10. The decision of the judges will be undisputedly final and abiding.
