Credo in un solo Dio,

(I believe in one God )

Padre onnipotente,
(Father almighty)

creatore del cielo e della terra,

(Creator of heaven and of earth)

di tutte le cose visibili e invisibili.

(of all things visible and invisible.)

Credo in un solo Signore, Gesù Cristo,

(I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,)

unigenito Figlio di Dio,

(the only begotten Son of God,)

nato dal Padre prima di tutti i secoli.

(born of the Father before all ages.)

Dio da Dio, Luce da Luce, Dio vero da Dio vero;

(God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God;
)

generato, non creato,

della stessa sostanza del Padre;
(begotten, not made,
same being with the Father;)

per mezzo di lui tutte le cose sono state create.

(through him all things were created.)

Per noi uomini e per la nostra salvezza

discese dal cielo;
(For us men and for our salvation
He came down from heaven;)

e per opera dello Spirito Santo

(and to work of the Holy Spirit)

si é incarnato nel seno della Vergine Maria

(He was born of the Virgin Mary)

e si é fatto uomo.
(and he became man.)

Fu crocifisso per noi sotto Ponzio Pilato,

(He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate,)

morì e fu sepolto.
(He died and was buried.)

Il terzo giorno é risuscitato, secondo le Scritture;

(The third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;)

é salito al cielo, siede alla destra del Padre.

(He rose to the heaven, He sits at the right hand of the Father.)

E di nuovo verrà, nella gloria,

(He will come again, in glory,)

per giudicare i vivi e i morti,

(to judge the living and the dead,)

e il suo regno non avrà fine.

(and his Kingdom will have no end.)

Credo nello Spirito Santo, che é Signore e da la vita,

(I believe in the Holy Spirit who is the Lord and gives life,)

e procede dal Padre e dal Figlio

(and proceeds from the father and son)

e con il Padre e il Figlio é adorato e glorificato,

(and with the father and son is worshiped and glorified)

e ha parlato per mezzo dei profeti.

(and spoke to the middle of the prophets.)

Credo la Chiesa, una, santa, cattolica e apostolica.

(I believe the Church, one, holy, catholic and apostolic.)

Professo un solo battesimo per il perdono dei peccati.

(I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.)

Aspetto la risurrezione dei morti

e la vita del mondo che verrà. Amen
(I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen)
