I just went to my first punk rock concert, and I want to change my fashion
style. I want to be more punkish, wearing more black and more studded
things. But I am afraid my mum and my sister won’t like me and will laugh
at the idea. I’m afraid of being shot down.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting change your image. In fact it’s a pretty
big part of being, a teen. It’s is important to try new things and explore new
ways of expressing yourself(without put yourself in danger). The road to
self-discovery isn't always a smooth one though, and chances are
not everyone is going to approve of the new you. So, you need to stay
focused on the things that make you happy. If wearing some extra studs on
your belt makes you happy, then don't let anyone's opinion stop you. It's
hard when your family doesn't understand what you are going through, so if
your mum and sis start laughing at you for your new look, just sit down with
them and explain why you've taken on this new punky image. Hopefully
they'll respect your decisions and keep their negativity to themselves. Good
luck!

The best thing to do is to find your own personal style! If you feel
comfortable, you will have more confidence and people will notice you
more. ~

GOTHIC
While 'gothic kids' are generally depicted as a group of dark and depressed
individuals, this is usually not the case. Gothic subcultures just find humour
in mortality, and don't mind wearing dark make-up, metal and lace. Gothic
fashion is the darker side of any fashion style you can think of. Normally
goths wear big boots, chains and fishnet stockings - the girls love long
dresses and corsets, and the boys go crazy over tight black jeans.

Nowadays, teens who value

comfort more than beauty for everyday wear most frequently prefer the
sporty style. It is great for school, vacation, parties and even work, if there
isn't a strict dress-code to abide by. Comfort really is the key - the clothes
are loose, elastic, water-resistant, etc. You can wear tracksuits, sporty
footwear, shorts, tees - anything that feels and looks comfortable. You don't
have to be an athlete; you just have to look like one.

Hip-hop is one of the biggest influences on street wear and urban style.
Boys love to wear baggy jeans and oversized t-shirts or sweaters. Girls also
wear t-shirts, baggy jeans or short skirts. Both boys and girls pay a huge
attention to caps and sneakers. As far as accessories go, make sure you
cover yourself in bling. Necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses — everything has
to be covered in diamonds.
